Moreover, though no monetary amount can compensate poor Man's sufferings, huge compensation should be paid to him by media houses and government. The Legal system needs to revamped. The Indian Constitution clearly guarantees that 100 guilty people can be let off but 1 innocent must never be wrongfully punished. The accused also has right to be treated fairly and with dignity. This is more of a fault of the legal system. The Supreme Court itself acquitted a guilty murderer who r*ped and killed a minor girl; how can they arrest and jail an innocent person then? Women who are r*ped never get their justice and innocent men like this are wrongfully jailed.

Rape(as alleged) happened in 1995. Case filed against Maheshwar Tiga in 1999. In the meantime ❤️ happened. How is this not considered rape ? I mean rape happened prior to love ..... I don't understand this ... Somebody explain this

The knife point story and kidnapping and raping for 15 days is a lie, there is no police report for missing person, and will anybody exchange love letters after all of this??? It was all a made up story, would have been evident in the court of law, but promise of marriage also would have been proven, hence rape.

A crime is alleged to have happened and after that she falls in love with her abuser. Happens always.Trial court and high court convicted him based on 2 points 1. Sexual intercourse happened between the accused and the victim is proved beyond reasonable doubt 2. consent by the woman to sexual intercourse at the time of incident was based on false promise of marriage is proved beyond reasonable doubt. All the ingredients of rape are met. Convicted!!! She fell in love with him after that is irrelevant to the crime that took place. She has to be examined clinically if she got stockholm syndrome or any mental imbalance after that trauma and then SC should have come to conclusion as to whether her conduct after 1995 nullifies ingredient 2 or is irrelevant. Instead SC resorted to assumptions. The accused could have trapped her after the incident and made her fall in love, collected love letters just to use as alibi to escape from rape case. Once he knows he got all that, he dumped her and prepared to marry someone else. Why this possibility is not considered by the SC?

Rapist is considered one of the most godawful being, both in society and in jail, I feel if it was rape initially, then he has suffered for it already. Regarding Stockholm syndrome, it is very less likely she will protest against him, just before he is going to marry someone else, it really is unlikely. I am doctor, and also a victim, trust me, she wouldn't have raised her voice ever if it was anywhere near Stockholm syndrome.

-Cause of Action (Rape as alleged) happened in 1995. -Case filed against Maheshwar Tiga in 1999 just before his marriage. I wonder WHY SHE TOOK 4 YEARS TO WALK/RUN/CRAWL from the crime scene location(where rape happend) to the Police station ??? I very well knew there were No ola or uber at that time but still we have autos or least bullock carts. Wait trail court /HC also believed this and convicted a jawan. Every time I prove Indian courts are not joke and they hit me to such a low rock level with the above judgements. TagLine: Consent under misconception of fact has to be in proxmity of the time of occurence

Why there are no deadlines on cases with themes? like assault, rape, murder, fraud etc May be 3 months for minor crimes, a year for Major? I know time is needed so as to not to pass unfair judgement but then you have 3 or 2 chances to appeal (Diff courts).

Probably because court systems are overwhelmed? Not just in developing countries in developed ones too! I heard the immigration courts in the US can take years to process cases if not decades!
