it did. Medieval reenactor, we have an axe-throwing stand for the people and it really helps driving the point home when you can talk to them and just spin around, throw the axe and turn as it its the mark spot on. Thanks.

Basically just throw it, if it doesn’t hit the target? Throw it again! Love the video btw

Great walk through on distance. Moving back and forth a few inches off 15 ft is easier then trying to stand in same place and keep trying to fix the throw. You advice worked for me and my son👍🏼

I love this..want to learn it! Going to start on my next paycheck Fri. Cuz only so many bullets for a gun; axe doesnt run out,get tired or need cleaning lol Ty for vid!
@ironhorse34974 жыл бұрын
Well, an axe COULD run out - what if it was stuck in somebody's arm instead of their forehead? I bet it would run out pretty quick... And if it did run out and you chased it down, you'd probably want to clean it too. And although the axe may not be tired, you likely would be, in that scenario.. I hate to punch holes (pardon the pun) in your comment, but I'm reasonably certain that I've debunked at least 2-1/2 of your axe advantages.. Not a sermon, just a thought... P.S. - Just being a smart a$$ :)

So I paused this at the 53 second mark to give you a like simply for the statement "this is how I show people if it works for you great and if not, there's something out there that will." True for many things and I can already tell I'm going to like the rest of it.
@Iammrbt25 жыл бұрын
After finishing it my only two cents is that your really valuable feedback to the guy helping you film maybe should have been more of a point to the viewers (me) of tips and tricks of the release and timing/grip of the axe. But I heard it so it's not like you didn't include the information I just wonder if you would have said it if the guy hit the mark the first time :)

Okay, if you get used to your tomahawk and always throw at the same target from the same distance, maybe you can learn the technique quickly. But if you have to throw at instinctively judged different distances, it becomes difficult. Could you give some tips on this? Would be great. Many greetings from Germany.

Nice job plain and simple love it thank you very much I've heard that distance is the key and you just showed me again that that's still the key loose your grip let it slide out thank you again
@billbriscoe94144 жыл бұрын
Maybe I have thrown Ax way longer then you but its not so much throwing at a certain distance as it is knowing "Instinctively" the rotation of your throw as to how it will hit the target. You can throw to get more of a spin or less depending on the distance. Closer, you want the Ax to rotate around faster. Farther you want it to rotate slower. Farther out, you have to have two rotations. For the beginner I can understand this tutorial I guess but it was easier for me to understand the rotation of the Ax vs moving up 6 inches from 15 feet when the top of the Ax hits first. I just adjusted my throw. And you are right. Throwing an Ax is a blast. Especially a Full Ax! That is when you really get good as its not as easy as the short Hatchets.

I have been trying to learn to throw hawks for years. Sadly it has taken an 800 mile move and a new internet provider so that I could get a good teacher. That being said, here is a huge thank you. I can't wait now to get a good target to hurl my hawks.
