Can you explain when you get a flier lie vs not? I see so many people clubbing down because of fliers but I thought in the rough you needed to club up because it slows your club down? That seems confusing to me

So basically a flyer happens when grass gets between the club face and ball. Because you have less friction it decreases spin and increases launch making the ball go further than normal. Now id there is a tone of grass then yess it will slow the club down and the ball will gonno where. Reading lies is a huge part of being good at golf. I hope that helps
