@@createachanneltopost Mateus for me is first to pick to win dinnie stones easily. I saw his videos, and also he is current record holder with frame carry, these events are not the same but im almost sure that Kieliszkowski will break record in dinnie stones. I am sure he will win 3/5 events.

The stone isnt like a husafell. Its a stone press overhead, stone over bar and then tombstone. Its a brutal event. Nothing is more strongman What could be better than mateusz finishing on stone to shoulder

That last time Thor carried the wood frame you can see it is clearly unbalanced unlike the other Mateus got. All the athletes who carried the one Thor got had problems as you can see as it wanna tilt to the same side every time. Thats probably why they later went for only one frame bacause it is hard to make two identical oak frames.. now it is fair play. Look back at that frame carry event and you will see the unbalance of the frame

Mateus will win 3 events for sure. stones, frame carry, dinnie. I hope also for good Axle result. And also guys u forgot that Mateus is current record holder in stone to shoulder event with 5 reps. Mateus will smash all competitors in this event, i dont even expect that someone will do one rep, only Mateus can complete this event.

I agree but Martins will get a rep or two on the stone to shoulder. We’ll see if Tom and Thor can as well. Hooper has not done the stone to shoulder before with that stone. Lifting a sandbag isn’t the same. Mateusz needs 3 or 4 points on the deadlift and I think he can get that.

Tom has been stone to shoulder training with Brett Nicols who has done 499 lifts unassisted on dinnie stones he even has his own replicas, he also taught Tom how to do stone to shoulder I think now Tom has the opportunity since last time he didn't have natural stones to train. Frame is an issue but he has been training hard on it if he can get 4th and complete the run that's where he needs to be

We could say the same about Mateauz still struggling at his ability to win a major comp. Biggest comp I seen him win was SCL Dubai and GL World Tour Finals. His deadlift will absolutely cause him to bleed points

Deadlift: Is all about Thor, if everybody else is smart they will try to battle for second place, not beating Thor, Thor might try to win on his second lift (about 1K more or less) and might very well achived this, then if he is pushed i agree with Vytautas, he will do 465 and no one will reach him, if he is not challengued he will go for the WR. 1. Thor; 2. Bobby; 3. Fought between Tom, Mitch and Evan. Tom is much better with a suit, Raw is not really his thing but Mitch is comming from a groin injury or something like that and he does not look in contention to push Bobby Here. Frame: Gotta give it to Mateusz, he holds the record, however, 2nd to 5th or 6th place gonna be hell; we have Maxime who actually holds the second fastest time at the event; Martins has finished it, Thor has finished it and looks good and Evan is a monster on this event. unlike the first event i belive Mateusz will be definetly challengued here, dropping will cost to anyone. Not rulling out Tom though, he hasn´t performed particulary well here, but who knows, hopefully he can make a break. Dinnie´s: Here i see everybody, but Oskar and Maybe Tom Evans having chances, like out of the 9 other athletes everyone has something that makes them fitting for this event, call it grip, call it speed, call it brain. This is the turning point of the Anorld´s, whoever is on the top 3 at that point better make a good run here cause points gonna drop and rise like crazy, is gonna be Tom´s chance to get on the top 3, Thor s chance to remain challenguing, and definelty gonna rule out more than one favorite for the title. Axl: The safe bet is saying Tom Stoltman is the favorite for this event, he gonna be pushed by Mitch Hooper though. Boby Thompson is the one with the strongest shoulders, but i don´t think he will clean the Axl as easy as the rest. Evan is looking good too. Mateusz gonna be chasing to bank some good points here. This is Thor´s pivotal point, if he manages to catch 3 reps he can push for the title, but split poins might be pain for everyone here, so doing 1 rep more than the next guy is gonna be crucial. Trial By Stone: By God!. Odd Haughen´s tombstone last!. This one is Mateus´s to lose, the first stone gonna be challenguing but tough, second one... i see a lot of guys failing it, no taky, no atlas smooth stone, is gonna be tough... and then! the toughest stone in strongman, i wasn´t fan of the Odd Haughen´s, but it grew on me a lot seeing everybody fail it, and this year ain´t gonna be no exception. Again, Mateusz have the best chances here, 2nd to 4th gonna be between Martins, Thor and Mitch... if Mitch proves he can handle this stones. Tommy can push here but that Tomstone is not his style, if he can lift it that´s gonna be huge for him and the Comp, if not, maybe out of top 4. Things to bear in mind while on the comp: - 11 Athletes this time, so winners get 11 points, this is troublesome, if you fail a lift and end bottom or near the bottom that is one less point than other years, so comebacks are gonna bu ruled out. - Elephant Bar is Whippy, therefore explosive deadlifters might end up pullling injuries, gassing or similar things if they don´t control the whip, plus failing a lift seems to be much worse for the body too, in 2019 this bar took Pritchett, Caron and Shaw´s chances just in the first event. - Deadlift will be crucial for Mitch, if he drops his chances will get reduced a lot. - Frame is crucial for Mateusz, is his event but he will have nasty competition, dropping might mean his chances end there. - The Appolon s wheel is no regular Axel. Issue is: Only Thor and Mateusz had tried the implement on the past, Only Thor and Martins trained in something that resemblance that bar, is a tougher to clean, is fixed, is thicker and the weight does not distribute the same way than other axels, is heavier in the center, so expect watching some of the top dogs battle the bar and not getting the wished results... that might include Tom and Mitch. - Split points gonne be huge on the Apollon´s too. This is the thing, you really want to out rep your competition here, cause split points mean, well, less points, and we gonna see a lot of guys stuck between 2 and 3 reps, this might include everybody but the 3 top pressers, wich i already adressed, so this event gonna changue things a lot. - Again, putting the Odd Haugen Tombstone last should be ruled out a felony, boys gonna break. So excited, hope nobody gets injured. Top 3: Mitch, Mateusz, Thor, no specific Order.... Martins and Tom Battling 4th, maybe 3rd

I think (hope) this is kilo's year. I really think the max deadlift right at the start is the best thing for him. He will be fresh so with his best chance to get a semi decent lift, and he will play it safe. Other athletes will almost certainly take too big of a risk in jumps and miss their 2nd/3rd lifts giving kilo an opportunity to sneak his way mid pack. Which is he can come mid pack on the deadlift he has a real shot at winning the whole show.

Lol, no, the last event is not wide open. Mateusz will easily win the Stone Medley, not even close. In the past he was wayyyy head of everyone else in the STH doing 4-5 reps while the second best guy did 1-2 reps.

Question mark for Tom is the frame, Dinnie's and trial by stone. If he can bring his A game, his to lose. He's been training well and even trained with the original Dinnie's so he's left no stone unturned.

That was Tom's first time and his training was with just sandbags. This time he's trained with natural stones like Mateuz, Martins, etc have historically done. I will be surprised if he doesn't finish that event.

I don't know what shape Martins is currently in but if he's peaked for the show, i expect he and Mitch will be very hard to beat due to consistency. Thor doesn't seem like he's quite there yet and Tom has a habit of blowing an event and playing catch up half the time. I can see Mateusz having a rough deadlift and then winning every other event.. And if Oleksii is back in shape, he could be as consistent as Mitch and Martins. Ultimately, it's a nightmare to predict...

No, he wont score good points on deadlift because of his explosive technique, his axle is a big questionmark because i dont think he trained on a fixed one, and i dont think he will score good point on the trial by stone, especially because he only trained with sandbag and no natural stones and i predict he will have problems with stabilising the stone overhead.

Mateus didnt post too much but i think that if he came back to his fully strength, he can easily do 4-5 reps on Axle. He was so good at events like that, he did 214kgs easily log lift, if he is 100% ready, he can wins even if he will be last in deadlift, but i saw some videos and he said that he is around 85% of his old form ( maybe he is lying and will surprise all ), i will be sad if he wont win wsm or arnold in his career. I dont see Thor in top5 even. Kieliszkowski, Hooper, Licis and i dont know who wins, more likely Hooper but i cheer for Mateus. All depends from Axle. I think that Hooper will be third in deadlift comp.

Thor did 4 reps with 180kg in 2018, his max is 205kg so his axle was really good

That was on the circus barbell at WSM 2018. The most he ever did on the axle was 206kg at WSM 2017, I think that was the last time he ever did a max axle in competition. His pressing strength went through the roof in 2017-2020. I think he would've surpassed that 206kg if he had the chance to do it again in a comp, it just never came up again. I dont think he'll be close to that this year though, he's already said his pressing strength is lacking after the pec tear as he's building slowly. He did a 176kg axle in his last heavy session though so I think he could perhaps get 1-2 reps at the Arnold.

@seniorita4801 He's shouldered the stone twice in the past. Which only 5 other people have done ever, and at his best he could manhandle stones as well as anyone. He's not at his best so fair enough, he might struggle but he's always peaked well so he could easily surprise people.

You can’t go against Mitch, he just does everything right at comps and I see him winning. I am a massive fan of Tom but he still has events that he doesn’t do great at and Mitch always is around the top. I also see Martins doing well but maybe he will hold back until the next in the UK just to see how his body holds up. I think it’s the best line up EVER at a strong man comp but for sure Brian will be truly missed as he is my favorite of all time even though I’m from the UK

Mitch is an anomaly in strongman. He pretty much brute forced his way through strongman and achieved so much in two years. Stones seem to be his average event. I don't think Martins is doing UK Arnolds. I hope Tom win's.

If Thor wins this one it really is a statement, because the events literally couldn't be worse for him. No Husafell. No throwing. No traditional carry. No traditional stone run. No pull. Two grip events... Axel after his pec tare. I honestly don't think he will make top three. But on the other hand I also think Martins is overhyped for this one and not in the best shape. Also Tom will drop alot of points in a few events. God, this is so hard :D

It is a pretty stacked field. I've been following WSM and Arnold's events since the first ones. Different eras, hard to compare. But this one is a hard one to predict. I will try: Stoltman, Hooper, Mateusz, Licis, Halfthor in that order. ( I did pick my first three before I heard Big V predict. ;}

Something like Hooper, Martins, Mateusz, Tom, Thor, Evan, Bobby, Novikov, Evans, Maxime, Ziolkowski. I could see Martins have problems with his body and underperform but he should have a good chance to win as does Hooper. Evan and Tom could be very dangerous if they get into a roll and Novikov is a bit of a wildcard. Mateusz has a good chance to podium but I don't see him winning.

I have Thor in fifth. He’s the inverse of Mateusz. He wins the deadlift and is a question mark on the rest. So I have. Stoltman, Licis, Hooper, Mateusz, and Thor. Though Thompson is my favorite. It’s incredibly exciting and interesting. Strongman math would make this so wild with an additional three to five athletes. Then you get “points stealers” to get between the top guys. This favors the inconsistent people who are really good at some events. If this was smaller; like five athletes only, consistent people like Hooper and Martins are about impossible to beat because there aren’t a lot of points to spread.

Maybe it's just me, but I think both of the walking-whilst-holding-things events are rubbish. One is too short and light, the other is too much a pain tolerance test. If you're going to do one, by all means have a timber carry, but make it longer and/or heavier. Any event that can be completed in under 10 seconds is any event that needs to be tweaked.

Mateusz needs a miracle to win with his deadlift And this year could be it, he could be not dead last on deadlift getting him at least some points And while 5 wsm winners battle it out he could slip past them with placing mostly first and one of the events second or co-second with someone And guys like Maxime and Bobby could push some of the favorites on certain events, giving Mateusz a margin of points to lead

You don’t research much, do you? Oskar and Maxime are weaker deadlifters. Mateusz should win the frame and stone medley. He’s been doing well on axle pressing and he could win the Dinnie stones too. Depends if Tom and Martins can put points between Mateusz and Hooper.

In my entire life following this sport since I was a boy, this is the most densely populated contest. 7 out of 11 athletes could win... and as much as I personally don't like Thor for the way he conducted himself in 2017 WSM and for the allegations of domestic abuse, (yeah) ...having a bad guy makes it more exciting. Every good story needs one.

Great review but I think Licis will be top 3. He's got no major weakness and will finish top 5 in all events. I'm going Hooper, Licis, Tom, Thor, Mateusz. Thor should win the deadlift but I can't see him winning any other event.

I think Hooper will make the podium. But other than that I keep changing my prediction and I can't really decide... that's what's so exciting about this year! I think the margins are going to be very small when it comes to points. What an exciting year of strongman this will be!

It's not just hard to predict in practical terms about who could be better at what on the day. This seems to be such a confusing one in terms of who you just want to win. There are so many of the athletes who it seems it would be perfect for them to win. Mitch, to cement his status and win two Arnold's in a row. Martins to come back after the break and prove he's still the Dragon. Mateusz because, well, you know! Tom because he's got something to prove at the Arnold's. Evan because he is he so raw and energetic and just damn eager. No disrespect to any of the rest that haven't had the mention in this little round up. Fact is, I think this show is bragging rights for any competitor. You come last in this competition (and I don't think it will be a railroad for anyone), you've honestly got the chance to say you were there, then, with the best of the best of this generation. Lucky Oskar! Can't wait to see this.
