First legitimate since 2016? See I don't get why people think Thor's lift "illegitimate", and people with any sense need to stop talking about it like that.. Nobody ever says that about Misha's masters DL record, og Rauno's DL for reps WR or Tom's 286 stone WR, yet all of those were done under the EXACT same conditions under the same event with the same sponsor. So until you count ALL of those as "illegitimate records" publicly, you have to acknowledge Thor's 501. I think it's all down to the Thor/Eddie feud bullshit. Nothing to do with the lift. It's just "which guy is your guy", and it's frankly a plague upon the sport.

Biggest issue with Makarov he consistently uses a deficit and uses weird set up Graham just keeps it simple by having the right people to keep him on track also plus side he doesn't have to go far to get a suit like he did in the past, now Kaos and Cerberus are doing suits. @BGeezy4sheezy3 ай бұрын
Not having an athletic career in your youth can be an advantage to some degree. Many lifelong competitive athletes have so many accumulated injuries by the time they’re 40 that it hampers them in middle age. But the best time to start training is always today
@declanosullivan87493 ай бұрын
Interesting alright, a break while still doing lighter training seems to work for some athletes and not others. Justin Gatlin missed years of sprinting after being banned and was at his best at 35 or so setting his PB, when sprinters usually peak at 25. Thor would be at his best right now if it wasn't for that pec tear imo after his career break for the boxing, but then again if they never took those breaks would they have peaked earlier? Would you have peaked earlier if you started training at 18?

There’s allot of great deadlifters who cannot succeed in strongman because they’re just not strong enough in other areas. Why should the deadlift be considered a better measure of a persons overall strength than the log lift for example? @@J.c410Tom holds the WR for stone to Max btw that was yearrrrs ago when he was skinny and had a six pack 😅 he apparently can do 5 for reps with 286kg and apparently has done 300 already

Thors lift was weighed and reffed it was more legit then eddies. We never seen eddies plates weighed and he pretty much died being so fat and overweight. I think thors was pulled better and he didnt basically die like the whale eddie
@kavishU09023 ай бұрын
The difficulty of the rep and how big the person is, is irrelevant and Idk why so many people bring it up. The weight u lift is all that matters and Hafthor lifted more weight thats all u need to say.

All hicks lifts are wearing a deadlift suit so I can see him struggling to do it raw at smoe

Thor can deadlift more than anyone in the world right now. He can pull 505kg easily with a suit like these men are going to attempt. Imo Thor can pull 505kg raw. Anybody see him deadlift 1,006lbs raw at the Arnold on the Elephant Bar? Yeah, it was as fast as most normal, average ppls 135lb pull... seriously... nobody can beat Thor in the deadlift. His 501kg was as legitimate as it comes. Graham Hicks will NOT DO IT!!
@espenstoro3 ай бұрын
Well it's not exactly likely that anyone could pull that weight, but my money is on Hixxy. He's been doing insane things with unreasonably low effort for months now.

Hopefully he will get it, Graham's deadlift looks on point for 505kg.

Thor won't be going for the record at Rogue. Same as SMOE, Thor will want to win the whole competition. Why wreck yourself for the rest of the comp?
@LalasBrothers3 ай бұрын
Thor has mentioned it twice in his last few videos that he would like if Rogue would have the max deadlift at the Rogue Invitational, so why are you saying that he wouldn't go for the deadlift record.
@martybendick22463 ай бұрын
@LalasBrothers Of course Thor wants a max DL. He knows he will win the event. I bet he wants a max deadlift at every show. That doesn't mean he will go for the record. Max DL event and world record DL attempt are two different things. Rogue record breakers and Arnold prize money bonus for breaking records is never as much as the prize for winning the whole show. Why would he take the risk, potentially not get the lift, then wreck himself for the rest of the show? Rogue has the biggest prize money. He will want to win the whole contest. He is a smart strongman. He will want to win the show instead of wrecking himself on a WR DL attempt.

Thor has said multiple times, including a couple of days ago, that he will break his world record at the Rogue Invitational there is a max deadlift. He said he wants to break it AND win the show. Remember, he attempted 501kg raw on the elephant bar at the Arnold in 2019 & went on to win the show.
