Outstanding duo. Got to enjoy their music in person at The Hop, Fountain Valley, Ca. and enjoyed their 25th anniversary at the Riverside Casino, Laughlin, NV. I bought one of their T-shirts, sitting in the front row, Mr. Medley asked me to throw it up, he wiped his brow tossing it back. Several,years and many concerts later, Mr. Medley personally signed this shirt, never been worn or washed. I was at their last concert in San Diego, Ca., and not too long after Bobby passed away. God Bless you both. A duo I hold deep within my heart. Thanks, Bill & Bobby for so many great memories, Jack Davis, Huntington Beach, Ca.

I have just loved these guys since I heard Little Latin Lupe Lu after migrating to southern California at age 10 -- and began learning to appreciate Latinas. As the Motown tag line then said 'The Sound of Young America' the Righteous Brothers fit that description to a T. As a duo, solo, or producing (Medley) they've never been equaled. When bending at the knees and reaching for his best baritone, you know Medley is about to turn up the voltage and blow you away. When Hatfield starts into a magnificent tremolo, you know he's going to grab you right in the gut and give it a firm twist (Ebb Tide, Unchained Melody). To its credit, The Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame finally inducted them in 2003. Finally.

@Aurora-tp3dy
@Aurora-tp3dy Жыл бұрын
His manager encouraged him to talk to Bobby about getting back together in 1974. Doing 3 solo shows a day was really rough on his voice. By 1976, he had blown out his vocal chords and truly couldn't sing. Doctors told him there was no hope of getting his voice back. However, he ran into his old high school choir teacher and worked with him doing 2 lessons a day for around 2 years. A real tragedy occurred in January of 1976 when his ex-wife was murdered and he was left to care for his son alone.
@zanhar7688
@zanhar7688 Жыл бұрын
Yes … it was ‘74 Bill lost his voice and one of the reasons they got back together… so Bill didn’t put as much strain on it. It was many years before he could sing full voice again. In ‘76 Bill’s ex was murdered and he retired to become a single dad to their son, Darrin.
