Q+A With Balance My Hormones - Whats the story with AIs now? I see many in the TRT community now saying that aromatase inhibitors should be avoided unless absolutely necessary, due to estrogen being required and low estrogen being just as bad as low testosterone. What's the deal here? I Ask Mike to clarify.

i dont care bout my tit coz im overweight but when my e2 gets high i get emotional, brain fog, low libido, weak, anxiety, fast and harder heart beat, anti social and others..after taking only 0.25mg of anastrozole all the side effects reduced within 20mins..ill get a libido of a 17yrs old the next day..

Thanks for this. Just started TRT and I’m overweight to begin with. Noticed I’m retaining a ton of water, my nipples just started getting sensitive, and I’m more emotional. I literally got teary eyed over stupid video on KZbin that wasn’t something to get emotional over. All you hear about AI’s is not to take one. Are you on a shot for this or pill? Still working?

I was put on an AI. I'm obese and have what I think is an unbalanced estrogen to test ratio... 2 days after 200mg of test I have 492 total test & 392.5 total estrogen... that feels way off so I'm going to stick to it. My BMO is 52 which makes sense.... i don't see the AI being permanent... but at least during this weightloss phase I'd like to stay on it. I'm taking 1 mg of anastrozole per day. We switched my testosterone shot from 200 mg every 14 days to 200 g every 10 days now as well. My prolactin is also elevated and says its high I've been having e2 issues even before TRT. ED, fatigue, depression & anxiety, low semen volume after starting to take Test and a long recovery period with that... I'm hoping this helps. I started a great career in tech and want to start traveling and living my best life meeting some ladies etc but I have to work on my weight and these issues first… To tell overweight men they don’t need AIs to lose weight is stvpid in my opinion if we are estrogen dominant and high estrogen makes it hard to lose weight shifting to being testosterone dominant for a bit of time to help I. The weightloss process is nothing but beneficial for us. This is why I won’t ever listen to this crappy advice. It’s ignorant.

Hello Paolo when i was doing testosterone Pellets i was getting nipple sensitivity so after I switched over to injections I went on AI s for a few years I was taking 1 mg twice a week. My good Cholesterol went down too low and I started getting joint problems Carpal tunnel syndrome etc. Been off them now for about 5 months and things are improving!

It's not always gonna be in guys of higher body fat levels. I think that's a misconception. I'm around 15% body fat and pretty muscular. After starting trt my E2 was in the 60s and I started getting ALL of the associated side effects. My body just doesn't seem to handle high estrogen well. So unless I want to grow a pair of tiddies, anastrozol is a must for me.

my dr just prescribed me a ai and i dont know what to do. currently on 150 mg enanthate split twice a week. but not noticing any benefits and still tired. dr says estrogen is high. should i try ai?

There are so many factors to your question. How is your blood work and what are your diet and exercise programs like?

If you use Arimistane that kills of the aromatase enzymes that convert testostirone into estrogen, will the body be able to produce new aromatase enzymes after you stop using Arimistane and will it produce new enzymes? And maybe its possible to use Arimistane like 50mg 1 or 3 days per week ?

Im 32 years old roughly 30 percent BF. Just started trt decided not to take the AI's i was prescribed and instead of taking 100mg of test cyp once a week i decided to divide that into a daily micro dose so i didnt have to take the AI. The 3rd day of injection felt great for about 6 hours after injection than started noticing my resting heart rate climb over 90 bpm and into 130s when doing Anything physical, started sweating like crazy face and neck was flushing couldnt think clearly and felt strange this lasted for around 24 hours. I stopped trt for 2 days and tried again, and again 3 days later noticed symptoms again but much worse so i decided to take 0.25mg Arimidex that i was prescribed and 2 hours later felt 80 percent better than the next day symptoms were gone. However those symptoms have me freaked out now and am not sure if i should take trt again. Any thoughts or opinions on that?

That sucks. mate. Try managing your injections and medication in conjunction with your doctor and see if they spot anything amiss. Whoever prescribed your TRT should be keeping a close eye on you and your health.

Yeah it was unnerving to say the least, i get blood work done every 8 weeks. being that i just started i havent been in for the checkup and have now stopped medication due to it freakin me out lol. Ive also heard my natural test levels really arent that bad 400 TT 280 FT for being 32, whats your take on that?

I'm not sure of his exact protocol, but based on what we've discussed, he uses testosterone , an AI (sometimes), and Cialis. I don't think he has any trouble with weak erections based on what I've heard.

So testosterone can cause gyno instead of estradiol?

An increase in testosterone can in some cases cause a significant enough increase in estrogen and thus gyno. It's not the testosterone itself, but rather the aromatisation of testosterone to estrogen.

Do you need an AI?...your blood work should be the decider of that. Furthermore your diet,exercise, fitness level, body weight, so many factors as to whether or not to us an AI. Also if your on something and start not feeling well or "great", then stop taking what ever your on because it is obviously not benefiting to your health. Allow your body to normalize and reset, then try another method. My best advice would be daily exercise and practice healthy eating habits and really that's all you need.

Hi Paolo, I stated with Arimidex 0.25mgs every 3 days and it spiked my anxiety and nausea so bad I had to stop. Have you heard of these side effects and has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, an AI should only be used when absolutely necessary. Estrodial is just as important as testosterone, so if you mess with it and lower it to really low levels, side effects can be expected.

You shouldn't need to take any AI on TRT! a very very small % of people really need it. Let your body work and stabilize itself naturally. keep playing with Arimidex on TRT and you'll soon crash your E2 making you feel horrible! Take care.

Actually the best way is to do a sensitive bloodwork assay after 2 weeks. Check the estrogen level, then readjust from there.

Interesting reading this as I have terrible anxiety and nausea on anastrozole. My E2 level looks perfect. Must be the drug itself. Gives me horrid moods too

Disappointed you are promoting this company Paolo. Their doctor does give you an AI from the start regardless, so I’m not quite sure what Mike is talking about. Quite a few of us have moved to a different company now. Your interviews should be with a QUALIFIED DOCTOR and not a business man. Just my honest personal opinion.
