Kim, I can relate. I want all the things as well 😂 Country music is my jam 🎶 I try my best to do laundry six days a week 🧺 It gets a bit smelly living with a hubs and 3 Sunny Sons 😅 I have celebrated Valentines Day every year since I was a little one. My #3 Sunny Son was born on Valentines Day! He is the sweetest gift I have ever received. He loves that he can give treats out on his birthday ❤️ 🥳 I love the heart shaped Rice Krispy Treats! They were inspired. I’ll make those instead of cupcakes this year 😉

Have you thought about using those.bins in your laundry room, (you said we're useless), by putting each child's name on one, and as you fold clothes, put it directly into that child's bin, to carry up to put away, eventually having them putting their own clothes away and returning the bin (your older daughters could probably do that now)? It would go along with touching items once, instead of folding, laying them in piles on the counter, then putting them in a laundry basket to put away???

Hey Kim! I had that same brand and style of washing machine (Bravo XL)1. It was brand new when we built our house and it started leaking underneath within the first year. We didn’t think anything of it as it was during winter and we have a dog (we live in Montana so lots of outdoor skiing, snowshoeing, active Labrador and husband) so lots of wet towels and outer-ware things and so attributed the puddles to that. About one year in and it started making HORRENDOUS sounds (like yours). We still used it not thinking anything of it as our last ones were 10+ years old and still worked great before we bought new ones for our new house. Well….we started noticing larger and larger puddles of water and one day the grinding noise was so horrendous and a huge flood underneath. We cleaned up and as we pulled out the washer to clean up the large flood we noticed our flooring underneath was severely warped as well as damage to our subfloor underneath (before we sell our home we will have to fix and will cost upwards of 10K). We had a repairman out (machine was barely 3 years old) and he said it would cost more to fix it then to buy a different and much nicer Maytag brand washing machine. He said the style with the glass lids and separate spot to put the detergent and bleach were awful, impossible to fix and as it pushes the water through the section where you put detergent caused leaks inside machine and outside. We bought it originally brand new for $800 and to fix would cost $900+. He said he wouldn’t even be able to recommend reselling it or trading it in as repairmen knew the style was notorious for being a POS. So we bought a new one and it’s fabulous. We’ve had it for 4 years now and it works like a champ and actually cost less then the first one. It has a larger barrel so we can wash more things at a time. So short story long (heh). Get rid of the washer and buy a new style or buy a used washer but one that isn’t this style you will be much happier and have a nightmare to deal with floor damage. Thanks for sharing. Love your vids! Much love and positive vibes from Montana. ✨💖✨

Other You Tube family The Ballingers just had huge damage to floors/walls as a result of a defective brand new washing machine. CALL INSURANCE COMPANY !!! They are literally taking care of everything including cost of rehousing family of 8 to a VRBO rental house to live in while contractors tear up entire ground floor ,walls etc. since water seeps and can cause mold etc. BIG MESS.Have the machine checked Kim.Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Also,thought this a while ago . . .sounds like previous owners sold house immediately prior to having to replace every single appliance in the house. Alex was right you should have brought your washer and dryer from your previous home if you could have .The dishwasher definitely sounds irreparable : ( Wondering if this can help @ Amsiekins possibly could be reimbursed for expenses out of pocket . Should not have had to pay for faulty machine !!!!!!! Good Luck to all !

On the laundry, yes! I wear sweaters and jackets multiple times before washing. Also, it may help to do your laundry differently. What we do is each family member has a designating laundry day, i.e. my stuff gets washed on tuesday, my husbands on wednesday and so on. Then we have a day designated for towels and linens. Works out great to just one load a day and maybe 2 on linen days. Less sorting is the best reason I have for doing this though. I can take a basket of laundry to my son's room not having to sit through, just knowing everything in there goes in his room.
@debinnashville2009

That's how we do it. Each person has his own day so sorting is much easier.
@engmfj

Or if you mix it, you could use the "useless baskets" to sort it in when you're folding (one basket per person) - and then have the older kids taking the baskets to their rooms, put away their clothes and bring back the baskets. And yes, I use most of my clothes more than once before washing, except underwear and socks - no need to wash it if it isn't dirty or sweaty 🤷

a reason to sort: "rough" items, like towels and jeans are hard on more delicate items, causing them to wear out faster. and don't beat yourself up on not keeping the laundry absolutely done all the time. 6 people is a lot. i had 5 and only got my laundry caught up when the kids either moved out or started doing their own.

What kind of best friend would I be if I didn't share this with you? I didn't use my dishwasher for 5 years. I swear the dishes came out dirtier than they went in! I finally got so tired of not using it, that I googled the number of a local maintenance guy to come to fix it. He told me he was so busy, he didn't have time to come over BUT told me to try using Finish Liquid Dishwasher Machine Cleaner - it's $3.99 at my local Target. Don't worry, this has a happy ending! I also use the Finish Powerball Tabs Dishwasher Detergent (the one with the red dot) for which he also recommended. Yayyyyyy😐 Anyway, the real story is how do I deal with wet hair when it’s cold?? Painfully. 1) I don’t put my bathroom fan on because it makes it sooooo much colder!! Stay toasty with the steam😅 2) I wrap my hair in the towel after so my hair dries a little and my clothes don’t get wet and give me hypothermia, and 3) blow drying is exhausting but also is nice and toasty when I’m freezing.

I'm commenting a lot, but i'm doing it as the video plays, so I keep getting more ideas. Hopefully, you get credit, even if it's multiple comments from the same person. Anyway, I think the Garland on your candle cabinet would be really cute on your stair railing. It's crying out for seasonal garlands. Next month, a St Patrick's day Garland, even if that's all you do, it would add "just enough" holiday cheer! Then Easter! You have such a large house, the holiday stair rail Garland, would draw your eye to that!

One way to save some time for yourself is to have the children separate their underwear from their outerwear then turn everything right side out BEFORE they put them in the laundry. There will still be items that get turned wonky in the laundry process but just teaching your children to do this will save YOU so much time during the folding cycle. 💝

I googled what could be wrong with your washer. It could be that the tub bearing is broken and needs to be replaced. That will produce a load grinding noise according to google😅

I love the picture you showed us the other day when you were doing your closet. The oblong one with the flower vases on it. Was it thrifted or where did you get it? I would hang that picture or see what it looks like on the wall in your kitchen where you first put the wreath.

I have 9 kids. When they were all home I would easily do 4 loads of laundry a day to stay on top of it. I line dry a lot except during winter. Love the smell! Most of mine were potty trained by 2 +/- mos. My youngest was close 5!!!! I thought that kid would go to kindergarten in pullups (going to school was his motivator). He was plenty smart and capable.

Good morning. My granddaughter has the same potty. So cute. She just started walking right after her first birthday. Can’t wait to start training her. She does watch her mom in the bathroom and she doesn’t like pampers anymore 😂. Maybe that’s a good sign. Peace and blessings.

Just a tip, I have 4 kiddos as well and have found laundry much more doable keeping everyones clothes separate. I do 2 loads, 3 times a week, then do that odd "they just threw their clothes on the floor and kitchen rags, and all the crap in the car" load... :) so 7 loads of laundry, but it helps save so much time sorting!
