I’ve watched ur video on this device myself, but I’m on an old versioning reason I got nearly 20 years ago so I don’t have it lol. The video did teach a lot & inspire me to make a few different nice arpeggios. I’m gonna get this vst. Fugue machine on iOS is a good tool too. I use it in Korg Gadget.

Thanks Oscar, great stuff as always. I wanted to thank you for not only the great EM content, but also the time you put into your video production. As a content producer outside YT, I appreciate the time and effort that goes into all the "little things" you include in your vids. If I can offer a humble suggestion....limit your zoom cuts to places where you REALLY want to add some emphasis. Needless framing changes distract the viewer and take away from the times when you want to make a point. Your production quality and content stand on their own so no need to bump it. Thanks again, you've taught me and many others a ton.

Great video as always Oscar. Reason & Live is a great combo but don't discount Live's arpeggiator. You can chain several Live Arpeggiator plugs at different values (different styles, different rates etc) and then automate the gate on each (or throw the Ableton LFO plugin(s) and use that to automate the gate of each plug...and anything else for that matter) Can take you really far and can be a happy accident type scenario

Spent the afternoon banging my head on this one. Important steps missed out so use this: Create midi track and add notes, use any sound to test. Add reason arp to track Create new midi track, add your preferred sound Select input from first midi track and reason rack plugin as per the video Select IN Play. The midi info has to be in the same track as the arp or it will not have anything to play. You can "call" the same arp track multiple times using different sounds if required.
@stuartleighton2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I cannot get this working. No sound is coming out despite the Reason Arp track having a chord progression. I have done every step, and I can see that the arpeggiator is working as it has recorded midi in arpeggiated form, but there is no volume coming out when I hit play. Weird. Update: Sorted. Yeah, imnportant steps missed out. Glad I got it working though by fiddling around and not giving up.

Hello I have been stuck for a while!!! This is what I did 1. Added a Midi track and added some chords into it 2. Made a new midi track and added the Reason Rack Plugin 3. Added another midi track - set midi from 'Reason Arp' and 'Reason Rack Plugin' - set monitor to 'In' 4. Copied the clip (containing the chords) from the first midi track to the second midi track I see 2 visible differences between his and mine: a) my third track (the one he labelled 'Ableton instruments' ) has a mixer section which is a column of circles whereas his looks like the normal one. b) again for the third track, his one says "audio to" whereas my one says "midi to" - I also see his selection under audio to is set to "Master" which is not an available selection for mine Thanks!

Hey underdog, nice video but unfortunally Reason do not show up as a VST with the new M1 version of Ableton. Only the audio unit version appears but AU can't send midi. I run Ableton in Rosetta modus, on website of reason this was advised, but then still no sign of the reason racks in VST in Ableton. I guess in your video you are using an intel Mac right ?
