You can meet Gweilo 60 in Nanning. Hopefully its still pretty cheap food. From Nanning you can see Guilin and from there ferry trip to Yangshuo. The ferry trip was a highlight of my trips when I go to Guangxi province.

Sleep trains always depart at evening, and arrive in the morning. Bullet trains always depart in the morning and arrived at evening. The are two type of bullet train in Chian: Fuxinghao has a speed to 350 km/hour, while Hexiehao can reach a speed of 250km, which is similar to the sleep train.

Yes all for a good reason. We wanted to set our selves up to hit China properly so was worth shooting to Bangkok and getting a visa. Really happy we got 60 days instead of the 30 so exciting times. I think our friends sun kissed bucket list are in macau at the moment. We have not been yet but we definitely will

You were landing at one of those dual-use airports. In China dual-use airports support both the PLAAF and civilian flights. Thus, taking off and landing at such airports require all blinders to be closed off as it is also part of an military base.

There are a few types of sleeper trains in China and they are the affordable way of going long distances over night and you can save a night of hotel expenses as well. Recently a new high speed sleeper train started to operate between Beijing-Hong Kong/Shanghai-Hong Kong that travels at 350kmph, making it the fastest sleeper train in the world, they even have cocktails on the train. You might get the chance to try that if you are going on the route.

About the not allow to open window and have to wait on plane on arrival... Seems like you landed in a Mil/Civ dual airfield... So you will be told not to open window curtain, and the half hour wait for clearance indicates there are military planes using the field at that moment.

Awesome, so you can use the 6-day visa multiple times. I plan to visit a trade fair next year and live in BKK, so I can just coming back and going again. Also how was the 60-day visa process?

Yes you can use it multiple times. The process is pretty straightforward the visa office is about a 15 minute walk from nana bts. You need to apply online first. Are you a british passport holder?

Regarding the conversation about your three watches: That's the customs officer checking out for potential smugglers. It is not uncommon for people to buy luxury goods overseas and come into China without declaring to the customs, thus avoiding import tax. I think you were let off without any finds/taxation as it looked highly unlikely you were one of those smugglers.

1. DON'T try the sleepers' train, especially the typical dark green skinned in color...extremely slow, crowded, no A/Cs. 6 beds in a room? Forget it ! Yes, literally... but pile up vertically, 3 beds on each side of the cubicle, you can't name it as room. The bed is narrow and short, you will bump your head on the ceiling if you choose the top bunker. No rooms to store your belongings. 2. Google explains why and when to pull up or pull down the blinds in an airplane. 3. Spring Airline restricts a lot to balance between profit and service to suit her customers to battle against the sized airlines. 3. Though China is relatively safe, those coaches with storage partition on the side has a loophole, sometimes your luggages would be mistakenly picked up 'unintentionally' by some passers by when the coaches halt at an interchange point, etc. 3. Really glad that you find an incorporated advertisement as sponsorship. 4. Naning, a real adventure, not commonly introduced by other vloggers, good job.
