For anyone watching wanting to do this you will need to do a full 4s swap to make it reliable or if your rig is light enough you can try to find aftermarket typhon 3s full metal driveshafts. the 4mm wheel studs and universals on the 3s line axles will not hold up to 4s long-term, as in multiple packs ran through them. arrma's cvd upgrade axles are just as bad as the stock ones, by upgrading the weakest link in the driveline you shift the stress created by the increase torque to another section of the driveline, you will be more prone to stripping diff ring and pinion gears as well as the stock plastic spur gear and will have to either upgrade to the new 4s metal gears or find aftermarket unless you like pulling the diffs out every other pack to rebuild them. it took me 2 years of trial and error to be able to take my BR 4s out without having to worry about it breaking. In the grand scheme of things you're honestly better off staying on 3s or wait until horizon has a sale and pick yourself up a kraton or outcast 4s v2 rig.

This video is almost 2 years old, and I haven't had to do any of that. My Typhon 3s on stock shafts I got 103 mph with it. All depends on what you want do with your car and how you drive but it is not something you have to do...

I've had my big rock for about 2 yrs now and put it through the ringer to say the least. Full speed curb hits, failed landings, landing under too much power, letting my 4yr old drive it lol. In all that time I've only replaced one plastic spur gear and went with aluminum A-arms since one of mine had a crack. I did throw on some better shocks when I got it too to try and keep the chin from smacking. I definitely got my money's worth and hope to build on it more when the stock system finally bites the dust.

Do you happen to know if there are any sensored options for the Big Rock that do at least 100A continuous? Unlike most people I'm not looking for top speed with it, I want to have better crawl control while also possibly still having the same top speed.. but I could deal with only 25-30mph tops. Some say to just drop to below a 15T pinion but I doubt that will get it where I want. Likewise I don't think anything under a 15T on a 2050kv or something would even do it cause I'm trying to crawl with Kaiju tires on that baby.

Have you looked into what castle offers? Like their copperhead 1/10th or something? Im running a sensored system of theirs on my Kronos and it works very well. I dont crawl with it but I do like the throttle control with it.

@@therchotspot I was looking at that one but also didn't realize til earlier that the EZRUN MAX10 140A Combo 3665SD is apparently a sensored pair. I might try the 2400kv unless I find out it won't fit or something.

Ok is it over powered. How much throttle are you using .just got 2 big rocks . Ime thinking of going 4 s but not if it tears up truck.

Its been good for me. I didn't go crazy big power either. 4s is a step up so I keeping the pinion low at 18t feels like a good combo. I would the spur to a metal one but I do that for all my 3s cars.

How does this compare to your kaiju. Do you like it as much?

I do! But I have a soft spot for the Kaiju

I got the stock 3s system with 21t does that make it faster than the 15t?
