I’m getting my son the Granite boost for Christmas and a Senton boost for myself(haven’t had a rc car in over 30 years!!) so I’m looking forward to upgrading them as we both get better at driving lol

These trucks terrific especially for newcomers good entry prices with upgradable parts also dependable tuff.

To someone who’s actually a beginner, they wouldn’t notice. But to someone who’s driven an actual 2wd truck, they’ll notice the performance difference. Not that the slash is a godly vehicle by a long shot… but the steering geometry and weight distribution is meant for being pushed by the rear wheels

Slower brushed vehicle make such good video's for scale videos. I have 4S-6S vehicles and I might buy one of these just to have as a platform to play with different bodies and some of the lower cost motor/esc stuff availabl other theree. Thanks for the well done review!

That truck is one of the best ideas Arrma has had recently, in addition to taking the vendetta and infraction to the 3s line up. I personally think the 3s line from arrma are some of the best RC cars you can possibly spend 300 dollars on. They are all so fast, so tough, and so reasonably priced. You can't get mad at about rc cars that are as fast as most 4s and 6s line ups box stock vs box stock, as tough or tougher, AND SEVERAL hundreds of dollars cheaper in many cases. Great video BTW. I've seen it before but failed to comment at the time.

Hi I guess you have heard this a thousand times but just getting back into rc cars, had tamiya in 80s and 90s loved building em but thought I'd grown out of it but you tomley and Kevin have given me the bug again, bought a 124017 a few weeks ago and wow the speed and performance is amazing so inspired by your video with your pal with the TLR Typhoon I've got one coming on Monday! Love your channel and the fact that you don't try to destroy everything Regards rikrik51

i was looking for a new toy and noticed these new boost ones, my Typhon Mega was a great purchase and now have the bits to rip out the 550 bits and goto 3s, now I was looking at the Senton but then also spotted the Vorteks in an amazing red coulour scheme that just looks awesome. What with the upgrade kit to full 4x4 come spring I am tempted, just got to get past the immovable object in "the wife" 😂😂

So ok nice for a beginner, but I can't get excited about short course trucks as I have a ftx Zorro brushless, but it spends more time on its roof ! Maybe it's my bad driving or I should use it on short grass fields? But as I don't have any grass fields around I just don't use it, anyway nice present 🎁 for your little fella iam sure he will love it and have loads of fun! Thanks for your upload 👍🙏🐱

The zorro is an excellent truck brushed or brushless. I found the higher CG and rear suspension setup does make it prone to topple over a lot more. Cheers mate! 💯👍

Great Senton,can it run with 3S in Stock Version ? What is the Maximum Speed ? The green Looks cool
@beyondRC Жыл бұрын
3s is risky most of the time on stock brushed setups. Heat from the motor will almost certainly kill it :/

Hi Ricky. I think the spec of the Boost is the same as the 550 Mega 4x4, not the 3s BLX. I have the Mega, and absolutely love it. I ran it stock for some time, but then upgraded it. It's now running a Hobby Wing Max 10 SCT system, with bigger wheels and tyres. I had to cut the body down to stop the tyres fouling. This is where the Mega spec falls down with a brushless upgrade. The slipper clutch in the Mega is way weaker than the 3s BLX, but the upgrade is pushing £50, on top of the electronic upgrades. You'll probably need to replace the 2-1 receiver/ ESC as well, as a 40a ESC is fat too weedy. I'm still running the stock slipper in mine, but if I gun the throttle, it just spins up, and won't accelerate. I have to feed in the power, but it'll still pull wheelies at 30+ mph doing that!! Your son is going to love it. 😎👍🏻
@beyondRC2 жыл бұрын
Correct. I was under the impression it was just a 2wd BLX but you are right it uses 48dp gears the same as the mega not 0.8 mod like the BLX. Even so the drivetrain is brushless ready as stated on the Arrma site and the diffs are ready for the extra power. Converting to 0.8 mod is incredibly easy with a different spur/pinion but yes the slipper may be an issue. I converted my granite mega to BLX components when I started the channel and forget how much it cost now but wasn't as cheap as I would have liked. Cheers mate Sam will enjoy it! 💯😎👍

I beg to differ. Maybe not the slash 4x4 or top spec versions but the 2wd brushed version.. all day long 🤷

I agree. Senton comes with way grippier/softer tires compared traxxas awful tires. Add senton tires on the slash and that may even the playing ground haha

I hope you don't mind a little critique... It's not just you, but all the RC guys do the same thing... Your putting out a video for beginners, and explaining the car etc. But all the options your talking about... "Brushless", "3s", "this is better than the slash" etc. Etc. Etc. Are all completely foreign to a beginner. I'm all for bringing more people into the hobby I've loved for 30 years, but we really need to make it more accessible
@beyondRC Жыл бұрын
Fully get your point but then it's down to beginners to do their research as well. It's simply not possible to educate a beginner to the same standard (I've been in RC for 25 years) in one video. It's a simple case of searching youtube/google for the keywords you mention and brushing up on what these things mean and just gaining an understanding. Like any hobby, proper research must be done prior to taking that first step. Get where your coming from and if a beginner questions in their mind what me and fellow rc youtubers are banging on about there are countless guides online.
@daveterry4326 Жыл бұрын
@@beyondRC I understand fully what your saying. As I say, I've been playing with RC my whole life as well, I didn't mean any disrespect, I just see the word beginner in a KZbin video title, and then the content isn't really beginner friendly if you understand what I mean? Apologies, don't mean to call you out specifically, it seems to be a generic theme across the hobby. I mention it specifically after seeing your video (which I enjoyed by the way) because I have a couple of friends want to buy RC cars for their kids for Christmas, but after watching a few videos online are so confused by it all, they've decided to get them something else.

yes of course 99% of cars are made in china but the difference with a named brand Rc is parts are readily available everywhere with some of the off brand stuff you are waiting weeks for parts..
