+David Britton It was a poorly done event comic during the "New 52" phase of DC Comics. Showed a dystopian future, altered characters, etc. As for the reasoning of the impersonation, Superman was m.i.a ans thought to have been killed or something. And rather than have riots and massive attacks in the wake of the world's greatest hero no longer being around, Shazam disguises himself as Superman to help keep the status quo and criminal population in line. The helmet meant to hide not only his true face, but keep to the cover story of Superman recieving horrific injuries from a battle that required him to wear it.

Many find it ridiculous that Lena doesn't know Kara is Supergirl, and so do i tbh, but it might be like a 'right underneath her nose' thing.
