Arteta doesn't see that what we needed from last season was backup for Saka, Odegard if he was to sell Smith Rowe,backup for Partey n a striker that's all but what he did he signed defender ,n Merino midfielder now he didn't solve the problem we had . Don't take risks. 30 games to go, Saka needs to heal properly, hamstring injuries can become chronic very easily. Ditto with Timber.

Dropping Trossard out of the Liverpool game should be out of the question. Like you said having that partnership with Havertz is the only thing left since Odegaard and potentially Saka out not to mention that he really likes playing against Liverpool and has a really good goal scoring record against them

Hi Charles, loving the show… If Califiori and Timber are out, I would play Rice at CB with Gabriel. Kiwior left back with Rice inverting into midfield. Allows Partey to play in a double pivot with Rice, Merino in the 8 and Trossard and Haverts in the 8/9 and Martinelli & Saka/(Jesus) wide. What are your thoughts? Thanks, Joey

Hi Charles, hope you are well! I know he won't, but I really do think we should start Nwanieri against Liverpool. We have lacked creativity these last 2 games and with Trossard not at his best + creating mistakes which has cost us, I think it is a risk really worth taking. Also, I feel the fearlessness of Nwanieri will be a big aid for us going forward and help push the squad in quality and belief. Overall I really hope Saka, Timber and Calafiori are all available to play. These players are crucial for us and the drop off of not having these players available is clear to see (not so much for Timber as we have White, but he isn't 100% and will be at CB I'd imagine). @lewisreynolds5283 Was it madness when the likes of Wilshere, Fabregas, Saka and many others were put into the first team and big games even though they were really young? Even Tuesdays game against Shaktar, Arteta chose to put on Skelly instead of Zinchenko or Kiwior, who are more experienced. I am not asking for Nwanieri to start for the sake of it. I am asking for him to start because I genuinely feel like he can not just do a job but a good job. If I didn't think he was ready, I would just say start Trossard.

Seems the most likely options are (left to right): MLS-Gabriel-Kiwior-White or Kiwior-Gabriel-White-Partey Think I'd go for the first over the second personally, mostly because don't like Partey against quick wingers and do like his defending and control in midfield recently. Hi Charles I would drop Trossard to super sub against Liverpool and play nwairi promise him 45 minutes but keep him on if he performs in the 1st half they way it wont affect his confidence If subbed at half time , in defence play skelly on the left though salah was subbed off on 65 could be be injured

Hey Charles, honestly who would you rather in our team now Merino and Sterling or ESR and Reiss? No issues with the two lads leaving but we had great cover for positions and the summer was supposed to be about adding quality and instead we struggled to replace the cover we let go Every team gets injuries, with the lack of rotation last season ontop of the euros. We were always going to get hit this season. We should have prepared better for it Liverpools midfield needs to be tested off the ball and if we sit back Salah will eventually pick us off. We need to be fast, push them back and play in their half.. If not its going to be a long day Sunday

🔴 For me Timber has to play centre back in Saliba's absence. No need to change and play white at centre back. I understand the diaz vs timber but white can hold his own against diaz. For me, I'd play Zinchenko at left back. If we're totally honest, since Calafiori has come in we haven't been solid and he hasn't been great defensively. i think if we are going to play an inverted full back from the left, then Zinchenko is the best player to do it. He is an offensive weapon and creative. Creativity is what has been missing from the side. We have become too obsessed with being solid and that has impacted our attacking play. 🔴

Saka has plateaued over the last couple seasons and this is probably the best he's ever gonna be. He's not going to reach Salah or Vini Jr levels and I can't see him ever winning a Ballon d'Or. If he wasn't one of our own I'd be calling for the club to invest in someone with a higher ceiling.

You’re missing the point and kidding yourselves. Ask yourself why we constantly need to rely on two players to perform well and achieve better results. I admire Saka and Ødegaard; they’re world-class talents, but we should have a team strong enough to perform well without depending solely on them. If Arsenal can’t deliver without these two, then we’re following the wrong team and setting ourselves up for regular disappointment. Look at Manchester City. Despite having a few key players injured, their team plays cohesively enough that you barely notice anyone is missing. So, stop kidding yourselves if we believe that relying on just two players is a sustainable strategy for success. Arteta has a lot of work to do. And once again, brace yourself for a disappointing result against Liverpool.

So 2 options for the back 4: it’s Timber RB, B White CB, Gabriel CB, Kiwior LB Love him but our record with B white at CB is not great. Another option: Partey RB, B White CB, Gabriel CB, Timber LB. I think that’s more likely given Arteta’s reluctance to use Kiwior recently. What a shame these opening games have been totally hampered by injuries and unfortunate red cards. Missing this many big players for a must win game is painful to accept, it might very well be beyond us to compete for the title this season if we lose.
