Morning Charles! What a great time to be an Arsenal fan, something I'm not taking for granted. Good results being matched by really good performances (something that I thought was missing at the start of last season). I thought that Trossard showed last night that he is adapting to cover for Odegaard's absence, some really good pressing, passing & a brilliant assist. He's become a real game changer! Cheers, Ben

i like Calafiori, he is good on the ball and going forward but off the ball he worries me. he is too aggressive and too tight on the opponent. Man is energetic and full of adrenaline he needs to slow down sometimes. he is probably still adjusting to a new league and he's only 22
@-MadMax45Ай бұрын
Our midfield put in a very mature performance tonight and Thomas Partey played a massive role in that as he was absolutely brilliant tonight - Solid performance & played a key role for 60+ mins… Partey was doing ALL the things that we’ve all known him for over the years. He was winning the ball back in the middle of the pitch. He made a great interception when he slid to cut out a PSG pass and stop their counter attack when they were trying to break against us - With a number of our players up the pitch that was vital! He even won the ball high up the pitch which allowed us to keep the pressure and intensity against the PSG defence when we had them under it. Partey done well to keep the ball and he didn’t give it away much - Ball retention was spot on tonight. And when PSG were trying to press us and apply pressure and make it difficult to find passes, Partey was still able to find passes under pressure AND forward passes too and break through their lines! He was really quality tonight and he deserves a mention and a shout out for sure! #TP5 Rice was solid beside him in the midfield too. Really good to see Merino get on and get a little run out to get some minutes in his legs - He surely has to get some more time against Southampton at the weekend. Important win and let’s keep going forward! 🔴⚪️

Hey Charles, great content as usual - glad you’re enjoying the Champions League nights at the Emirates again - and I’m glad you saw it because none of the commentators or pundits did, Martinelli influenced the decision to take the short corner for the goal; he ran to Big Gabby, who signed to Saka to drive it low. The bench must have spotted a vulnerability and Martinelli celebrated like he scored as a result. Hi Charles, On the fullbacks... I agree that Calafiori is really something else... there was pieces of the game where I was looking for him... and he is inverting into a number 10 position ahead of the midfield... Would love to see his pitch map... some of the attacking positions he takes up are so unconventional... it's almost awkward. Timber is just a special talent. So aggressive and capable with the ball at his feet. Love the Lauren comparisons. Ben White's going nowhere. Think what he was asked to do physically last year was sooo underrated. Can't help but hope he is rehabbing in Dubai. How is anyone forgetting how good he was after that break last year. Kiwior has been really good in his last couple of appearances. Think he realizes that if he doesn't step up, the train is going to leave him behind. Hope the extra depth has allowed Tomi the time to rehab properly. What a player when he is fit. Not even mentioning Zinchenko and Tierney yet. Incredibly tricky period of the season pretty well navigated I would say.

Obviously we have the international break right after the game so we might just go the same. But at the same time, Southampton always made life difficult for us whenever we faced them. On the other hand, our depth looks much better and even if we switch 3~4 players, we should be able to win comfortably against Southampton. Would love to see Merino get his first start for Arsenal maybe along with Ewaneri. Doesn't mean they should definitely start but they deserve more game time as they are pushing for the current starting lineup. Sorry for Martinelli but i think maybe Sterling or Jesus should be given a chance to start in the left wing. Martinelli wasn't the worst but i think it's time to give him some alert that if he continues his form there are always many players who can fill in his position.

Despite the win, I felt we were a bit too open at times, and it felt like PSG were dominating the 2nd half and we started to get complacent,let's not lie, PSG overall were woeful but I thought we miss the trick by not really by scoring more and killing the game off. I sense a lot of the arsenal players has exponentially evolved in Arteta’s system. Havertz is one who has reaped the benefits of it, it is truly amazing to see him take another level that I myself didn’t expect. His growth excites me on what more he can do as for what we see now of him could just be the tip of the iceberg

Good and great result but miles of perfection and quite a way of brilliant tbh. We lost our way mid second for a bit. Sit back for a bit then come back into it but we rocked for a bit and looked more likely to have conceded than against City in 48 minutes of second half.

I miss the total dominance from us right now. We do not suffocate teams like we did last season, and i dot see our flowing attack that we have been used to. Now it comes down to that we're simply more effective both in defence ond in offence. To say we were totaly dominating PSG is just not true. More effective Yes. Love all your content and thanks for a great show! (from Sweden)

Arsenal have a really tough series of games coming up in November. They have Liverpool at home, Chelsea away and Newcastle away alongside Inter away and Sporting Lisbon away. I think that's going to be equally challenging.

Didn't enjoy the second half. They had some decent chances. A team with a better striker probably scores a few goals. Very lucky not to concede imo. Don't know why we don't put games out of sight.

It was far from perfect. 8-0 would be perfect. But 2-0 will do. We talk perfect when we thrash dross 10-0 and the best 5-0. Until then, we do not even dare mention perfect. Perfect is still over the hills and far away. Thinking 2-0 is perfect is why we go out 0-1 in Munich. We are so far short of perfect we haven’t even started playing football yet.

Arsenal still only think they’re ‘competitive’ against teams like Man City and PSG. There’s still a chance they’ll turn out v Real and wilt like they did twice v Bayern last season. There’s a long long way to go, I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re still 2 years away and by then give up and go back to top 6 mediocrity because it’s less tiring. If this was home and away we’d probably lose 2-0 out there and go out on penalties. Arsenal are still way short of lifting big titles because they still think 2-0 at home to anyone is perfect.

I'm not trying to hang Kiwior out or anything, he's hardly played and when he does he's in a different position so it must be near impossible to get any rhythm but I thought he was poor yesterday. When he came on he shanked some clearances straight out of play with targets up the line, he let players run off the back of him a few times and his man hit the bar from the corner after Kiwior let him get away from him.

Charles .... is it time we.talked about Martinelli? If trossard is the best finisher at the club then its fair to say Martinelli is the worst? As a forward, if he is not working on his finishing then what is he working on?
@Nostradanus86Ай бұрын
I'd imagine our worst finisher excluding keepers would be Kiwior or Tomiyasu but yes Martinelli doesn't have much conviction & composure with his chances hence the 42 goals in 183 games record he holds so far. 33 goals & 18 assists in 134 prem league games ( 8,355mins )

For me, Martinelli works so hard off the ball in both attacking and defensive positions which makes it a real shame that he's not getting the rewards, in terms of goals for his efforts. I feel it's a case of composure in front of goal with Martinelli. Last season was a poor one, by his standards, and I think he's trying hard to make amends this year. I just feel sometimes he's showing a little TOO much urgency in front of goal and not taking that extra half a second to compose himself. Once that part of his game clicks, he's going to be a fantastic player. Let's all give him as much support as possible when we're in the stadium! 💪🏻 ❤️🤍
