Many have written off Arsenal in 2001/02 after this game but what happens next was astonishing. The Gunners went on an amazing run, and did not lose anymore league matches and went on the clinch their 2nd League and FA Cup Double including that famous win at Old Trafford where Wilford clinched the Double for the Gunners in front of a stunned Manchester United crowd and dethroned the defending champions.

ManUtd did a similar thing the following to that. Not losing in the whole 2nd half of the season, getting a result at Highbury that put ManUtd in a strong position they weren't going to mess up with just a few games left. Arsenal did just as bad vs the Top8 in 2002/03 as ManUtd did in 2001/02, that's what won & lost the title's but ManUtd were more emphatic vs the Top8 in 2002/03 than Arsenal have probably ever been. 35pts +22GD.

@evervictorious007 I know Arsenal weren't happy with a draw because of how the table looked if they didn't win that's my point. But ThierryHenry scored 2 offside goals in that game so Arsenal were lucky to even draw. ManUtd would've won 10 PL games in a row at the end of the season but for that poor linesman (Martin Atkinson, who was an even more rubbish/corrupt main referee).

Other than United, they have the easier EPL fixtures in the last 2 months from April till May and no UCL commitments while United have difficult EPL fixtures and the Galaticos of Real Madrid to deal with in the UCL. @evervictorious007 I know....but also ManUtd made Arsenal drop those extra points after ManUtd came to Highbury by Campbell getting sent off which he deserved but ManUtd's presence, skill or whatever (maybe annoyed that ManUtd got an equaliser straight after Henry/linesman put Arsenal in front) that made Campbell do that to get him suspended for games after so technically ManUtd did win it at Highbury especially if Arsenal would've still beaten Southampton 6-1 to win on GD if it was level on points (they would've thrashed Sunderland like they did whether they were still in the race or not because Sunderland were dreadful 2nd half of that season with a record number of consecutive defeats=15, and only 2 points in their last 20 games). Arsenal's results against the eventual Top8 was so bad that Arsenal needed that 6-1 win vs Southampton just to finish on plus goal difference against the Top 8, they were on -4 before that game although Southampton hadn't been confirmed as a Top8 team at that point but they beat ManCity away last game despite having an eye on the FAcup final. I would've just talked about the Top6or7 as they were a bit further ahead of the rest of the league points wise and there was only 10 points between 8th Southampton and WestHam 18th&relegated with 42pts. But Southampton beat ManCity home & away to finish above them and although by only 1 point they also had 5 fewer defeats which confirms they deserved to finish ahead of City and be included in that higher section of teams as they finished 8th whilst also reaching the FAcup final and had a player who was challenging for the PL top scorer only finishing 1 behind Henry & 2 behind v.Nistelrooy so really they deserve to be included, plus they beat Arsenal at St.Mary's and it means Arsenal got less than half the points vs the Top8 ManUtd did (and 21 GD worse). I don't think it makes a title winning team better just because they mathematically got it done at a particular venue like Arsenal brag about. That's just the luck of the fixture scheduling. A team might enjoy winning it at a particular ground more but that doesn't mean it was a better or more skillful title win than a team who didn't mathematically win it at a rival's ground.

I cant see what Henry was so mad about in the end lol. I thought the red card was valid and tbf poll could have sent Campbell off too for being the last man. He also sent off a newcastle. Not sure why Henry lost his shit in the end.
