Pep tried for too long with Haaland. Plan B was Alvarez up against Saliba and Gabriel as he's got quicker feet than Haaland. Too little too late. Pep knows a tad more about football than me. But, I'd have brought Alvarez on. Has the ability to conjure up a bit of magic with a 20 yrd curler etc. Arteta clealy had a game plan of counter attack and nick it. Could have paid off for him. I think we move to a 2 striker model with both Alvarez and Haaland....our quality of passes suck so we need a two striker model to link up top...2 with a great understanding of each others movement. I do not see Alvarez being physical but he may be able to be the deeper positioned forward or the receiving forward if Haaland drops deeper.

Why is no one talking about City defensive masterclass? Coming into this game, Arsenal won every Pl game in 2024 out scoring their opponents 33-4, they have the best attack in the league and have been battering teams. They come to play us (we’ve been poor defensively all season relative to past ones with a full squad) when we’re missing 3 defensive starters and GK yet we held them to 2 shots on target and conceding no goals. ​@@davedennison7386 well no, city are over criticised, coming into this game like he said Arsanal were the team on form, city also suffered major injuries, we have been criticised for our lack of goals but not praised for our defence that stopped the best attack in the league this season, Saliba and Gabriel are praised for stopping haaland who hasn't scored in previous 4 games and even them he was just poor I wouldn't credit saliba or Gabriel for that, on the other hand, Dias, Akanji, Gvardiol and Lewis were fantastic stopping all your Forward which are on great form from getting a goal

Situation with City is same as Barcelona once. In their prime it was unstoppable tika taka but when Barca dropped in form it became pointless endless passing. I no longer recognise Man City’s midfield. So empty and unproductive. We can’t win the UCL if Pep don’t fix this issue. Be honest, we are not winning anything this year. We spent ( wasted) 200 mil £ over summer, and we got worse…. If we would have kept exact same squad, with Gundo, Mahrez, AND Cole Palmer, we could have at least won the league. Too many players not at “City” level, including Foden, Doku, Nunes, Philips, Kovacic, Bernardo, and yes, KDB and worst of all Haaland. He looked like Rico Lewis out there, falling over every time he was touched. I think Alvarez could have done better. A lot of humble pie and busy transfer window where we need at least 75% team overhaul this summer before I’ll watch again, embarrassing…😢
