Good thoughts! I believe in the importance of the fine arts for all people, with or without autism. I'm not particularly gifted, but I enjoy trying. My autistic cousin was a savant in drawing art. He could draw a long straight line (he used to do it on the walls!) without using a straight edge, and it would be perfectly straight. His favorite thing was helicopters, and he drew hundreds of them in various settings. He was mostly non-verbal, but so sweet. He passed away in his '70's. Yes, art and music are of great value.
