Calm, atmospheric, could have been recorded yesterday, but is nearly 60 years old. I was 7 when this was made. Our TV only showed 405 lines so we couldn't have received this broadcast!

Pete LaRoca's ride cymbal is inspired. The whole video is an object lesson in putting all one's energy into the music, away from body movement. Hall's 'getting sentimental' loses energy. He mentioned in an interview his trouble with alcohol while in Europe with this group, but despite that seems to be someone who can actually listen more than play, which is remarkable.
