could have done so much more had he stayed with the brilliant Paul Simon who provided the most wonderful songs for Art to sing. Garfunkel was always arrogant and rather weird, cos he had a beautiful voice, but alas, he could not write great songs like Bridge Over troubled water..He was jealous of Simon's songwriting skills and of course, cos he earned most of the dosh.

@@skygazer6898absolute rubbish ! Art was once asked why he didnt write songs, and he simply answered because I just sing them. Hes never made out he can write a song , and as for jealousy I'm afraid you will never know what actually went off but can speculate.

@@stevedavis6879 Its not rubbish! He was jealous of Simon because he made more money from his writing. you can read up on it if you dont believe me. Anyway, Art's voice is now short to pieces. Goodbye

Even though this song stands just fine on its own merits, I'll forever associate this with Watership Down. I watched it as a youngster and was keeping it together just fine, then Mr Garfunkel began singing, and I was done. Bawled my eyes out. More than 40 years later it still destroys me. Such a special song and such a special voice, perfectly paired.

ENG: Old or quite old singers can still sing over 70 or 80 years because they live, and have lived (the great majority) without excesses, taking care of themselves. Charles Aznavour sang until around 90 years...The new (current) "singers or artists", their voice will die soon, because they are not really artists or singers, the vast majority have not studied singing or to manage / control their voices well, shouting or having a high-pitched voice does not mean being better artist / singer, even less if they know how to adapt / handle their voice well. There are already young "artists" who sing with the microphone stuck / stuck in their mouth, think if in 20 or 25 years she will have a voice if today she cannot take the microphone out of her mouth ...
