No art supply gifts. But the gift of time and quiet to create. Wishing you peace and blessings this Christmas.

Great video 💐 The best art supplies that I’ve ever been gifted is the paint set I got from my parents when I was a kid and the paper. It started my love of painting and watercolor. And recently I received 2 of the Etchr mini palettes from my friends for my birthday. 😍 My friends are the best!

Another great video, thank you - although most of the gift ideas have now appeared on my wish list. I think that my best ‘gifted’ item was a Moleskine watercolour notebook.

@@SketchesnScrubs hi happy Christmas, you are one of the few art KZbinrs who could relate with me during the COVID19 era. It is crazy, thankfully our rates is going do but we haven't confirmed Omicron yet, fingers crossed. I work at the COVID19 clinic in largest populated district in my country of Belize. To help with my KZbin consistency I would film in advance and in bulk. It helps especially when my father passed this year I was able to take a break without feeling that I need to catch up. When you need any helpful tips or I can call on you for a friendly ear. Stay bless. Sending positive vibrations your way for 2022.

I so appreciate your perseverance, thank you! I’ve never been gifted an art supply, but am extremely good at making up for this severe lack of thought (🤭) by gifting many lovely supplies to myself. I hope you are inundated with the most spectacular art supplies for Christmas this year! One last thing…thank you for your never ending work for our beloved NHS. You are an absolute angel for helping those in need. ⭐️🎨🖌👩🎨🥰

@@SketchesnScrubs I’m pleased you recognised that my words came from the heart. I am classed as vulnerable, have been disabled from the age of 10 (I turn 55 on the 28th), so I really do know what I am talking about with regards the dedication so often seen within our NHS. Long hours for little pay. Yet it is you and your colleagues we, as a nation have turned to en mass for help and reassurance since Covid-19 ravaged our shores. I know the coming weeks, and possibly months are yet again fraught with worry, but please do know, you are valued and appreciated by the public, if not always by the English politicians…😢 Move to Scotland…? 🤭 Sorry, that was a little too political…😳 I have only gifted art supplies once to a friend who decided to ignore the supplies I carefully curated for her after she expressed an interest in watercolour, and bought herself acrylics instead… Hmmm… My daughter Emma has no interest in art, but as a scout leader does enjoy crafting. Her partner, Sarah as a red blooded Irish woman adores baking soda bread, baking in general, and cooking up a storm, so I tend to gift unusual, and interesting food ingredients or equipment - the things you wouldn’t dream of buying for yourself. I of course, am suppled on a regular basis with delicious soda bread and other delights. I have two carers, one of whom, Linda, is extra special to me. For them, they each receive very different gifts indeed. One enjoys the practical side of life, whilst Linda enjoys a little understated glamour. I love buying presents for people, even more than I enjoy buying art supplies for me! What a shocker!! 😮 May I also wish you and your family as beautiful a Christmas time as is possible. Live, love and laugh until your tummy hurts! Let us welcome 2022 with some semblance of hope. 👩🎨🖌🎨🥰😇⭐️🙌🏻

I am so glad you were able to finish this wonderful video. My favorite gifted art supply was a little travel watercolor set that my husband gave me when we were first married 38 years ago. Btw, love your hair. Merry Christmas!

@@SketchesnScrubs I do I still have it, I smile every time I see it. I am blessed with a wonderful husband. Whenever someone asks him, “how long have you been married?” He always replies, “not long enough”. God is good! Hope you have a blessed Christmas with your family.

Some great gift ideas! I never really get given art supplies as a gift because nobody knows exactly what I want. I usually place an order with Jackson's and buy my own gifts for Christmas and am currently waiting for a parcel to arrive :))
@twiggalina3 жыл бұрын
@@SketchesnScrubs Hi! Jackson's have such a great selection of stuff to buy :D I have bought stuff that I can't get here in Italy. I'm going to try the Isaro watercolours. I've picked out 12 different colors to put a palette and I also bought some large sheets of Saunders Waterford paper. If you're worried to break open your watercolour blocks because they feel so precious then it might be worth trying a large sheet of paper and then cut it down into pieces. I find buying the large sheets stops me being so careful with the paper. Jackson's can cut the sheets down for you too. I've asked then to cut my sheets into 4 as I was concerned what state the paper would be in travelling here. I have also ordered a pad of the Baohong paper as the price is very good. Didn't you buy a pad of this paper? How do you find it? A gift card is a fabulous gift to get. I hope you enjoy all the arty stuff you buy. Have a great Christmas! :)

Well, I think the only art supply I was ever gifted was a colour pencil set from koh-i-noor given to me by my dad when I was 16. Aside from that? I usually ask for vouchers because I have so much stuff already and then I can select myself what I still want/need. :)

when I decided I want to paint my husband got me for my bday White Nights 36 in plastic palette. Last Christmas he got me yearly subscription to skillshare, and this year he got me awesome art books 😀

@@SketchesnScrubs I have to say Skillshare is ok for complete beginners but still rather overwhelming, I have to say we are very practical with gifts, he likes fishing so he chooses fishing gear which I get for him, and I choose art materials and he gets it for me. It's going for few years now.

@@SketchesnScrubs I accompany my husband to fishing trips and paint in my sketchbook and my daughter and her friend also paint with me, I have a W&N field box and other supplies that I use just fou our fishing outings. I'm rather bad at the landscapes but I like to paint people around us so I do sometimes make it work. Yeah I've been dabbling in art for some time but I got into watercolor 2 years ago and since then he encourages me. Ah today was the opening day of an exhibition I have together with my friend. Okay this is definitely the best # 1 art supplies/haul video of yours that for me, because it’s got everyone of my favorite art supplies that you’ve ever done. I have seen all or most of the art haul/ supplies videos and theses were my favorites now all in one video. 😃💕😁!!! I love your enthusiasm and I am so thrilled about this. Thanks for sharing this wonderful information with us. I think after watching all my watercolor subscriptions channels, I have finally narrowed my Gouache choice down to Winsor & Newton because of the numbers of colors, their light vastness ratings, and they are easily & readily accessible/available for me here in the USA. Hope you’re enjoying a wonderful day!

how is it going with trying not to be precious about supplies? I do have this Kuretake set. Did a few little practice pieces with it. it's not for our style of painting. it lifts to easy and I cannot layer with it. and the box is huge, rather bulky.

I noticed that there are no bright high key blues in that giant cotman set you have. Can you make those bright tropical intense blues without something like a cobalt turquoise?

@@SketchesnScrubs I love watching your channel. In addition to being interesting and funny, you are super sweet and BRAVE. I love how you travel by yourself🤩 It inspires me to do the same! You have to check out the Qor cobalt teal too. That one is even brighter then the cobalt turquoise. I think you would love it. I also forgot to mention- the coolest art supply I was ever given -by a really wonderful friend- was an antique Waterman fountain pen.
