In this video tutorial, I dive into the vibrant world of Ivy Newport's Color Flow books to create a stunning two-page spread in one of my handmade Artisanal journals. Using high-quality watercolor paper, I start by laying down a beautiful watercolor base inspired by Newport's color palette. I then enhance the pages with intricate stencil work and mark-making in coordinating colors, bringing depth and texture to the spread. To add a touch of elegance, I finish off with gold accents, creating a cohesive and visually captivating piece. I’ve had several people comment how I hold a brush.. I know how to hold them correctly… but I choose not to… keeps it loose for me and more unpredictable… I like that unpredictability 😁. Thank you! 🥰

I love the feathered edge/powdery texture element the soft pastels introduce into this layout. Going to be doing this more myself. This spread is very elegant, and offers a lot of visual interest. Love the way you used the gold down one side only. 😊

Gorgeous! I felt like it was a back to your roots session when you brought the gold paste out. I have been missing it😁 About that, do you scoop the unused gold back into the bottle? Or maybe you can rewet it since it states that it can be thinned with water to be used with dip pens?

The gold is basically acrylic paint. It doesn’t re-wet, and dries pretty fast. It is usually dry when I finish filming. Thank you! 🥰
