Welcome to the world of art. What was it like when you realized you could so artists projects? How long have you been practicing? I'm just curious. I have been drawing and coloring since I was a toddler. I started with color pencils and crayons and didn't get access to paint till middle school art class, well other than finger painting in Kindergarten. I may not be new but there's always new media and new techniques to learn. 🤗❤️👍🏽💯

I personally prefer waterbased markers (ZIG brushmarker), each color is a large variety of that hue dependent on the amount of water dilution you add with a waterbrush. In my experience waterbased markers last longer a piece even when each marker stands for about 5 shades of alcohol markers, you are only diluting the available color. It makes it easy to oversee all markers in one go and takes in much less space. I use 2 types of paper: Strathmore Bristol Smooth (300 gsm) and Canson Montval watercolor paper ( 2 types 200 gsm + 300 gsm) no warping problems with 300 gsm.

Thank you for explaining markers in such depth! 🤗 I have Ohuhu and Sharpie alcohol markers and Crayola and an off brand with a brush tip water-based markers. I find it like the brush tip best, but you are right, there is a place for other nibs! 👍 My biggest issue with markers is that they aren't very obedient about staying in the lines... I find that frustrating! 🤦♀️ But your paper quality tips should help!! 😍 I love how vibrant marker colors are!! 🌈 I still haven't worked up the courage to blend anything, partly because, as a mom of 4 and taxi driver of all, I have very little time to color, lol! 😂
@thaneeya19 күн бұрын
Glad my video was helpful to you! 😃 You should try blending on a scrap piece of paper. Just approach it as an experiment, so there's no pressure! You might discover that you really like the process and results! 😊 I find that the tiny point of the brush nib makes it easier to stay within the lines, but yes, paper type does play a big factor as well. But as long as you're having fun and enjoying the process, that's the most important thing! 😍🎨✨

Thank you, this was very helpful! I use water based markers as I mostly use them for adult colouring books (most of which are double sided). I'd like to start making my own art but I never know what to draw and it always turns out worse than I expect. I think I like the idea of making my own art more than actually doing it. I'd love to try alcohol markers but it's hard to find single-sided colouring books with good quality paper and I don't want to waste my money if I won't use them much (like I have with other art supplies)
@thaneeya5 ай бұрын
Glad my video was helpful to you! 💖 If you have a printer, then you can choose the type of paper that you print onto. Card stock is a fairly cheap option that can handle alcohol markers well. I've also used alcohol markers in my own coloring books (which are single-sided), but I always remove the page from the book first (so the ink won't bleed onto the page underneath). I'm also careful not to flood the paper with too much ink, or the colors will feather out too much. If you can find a cheap set of alcohol markers, they might be worth a try! 😊🎨

Thank you so much for this good introduction to markers! 🙏 I have a question. What kind do you recommend for trackers in a bullet journal that I also can use for coloring books? My books have pictures on both sides so it can't bleed through. I'm so confused 😂😂 Thank you so much 💜

Thank you for this informative video. My niece is in her teens and loves drawing and colouring. She definitely wants to continue her passion for art so I had gotten her a colouring book she can use these types of markers to expand her skills. I am considering either alcohol or water-based markers but unsure of what would be best for her to begin using and grow from there. Any recommendations?
@thaneeya9 ай бұрын
Glad to hear my video was helpful to you! 😃 I'd suggest asking your niece was types of markers she'd prefer. If she has favorite artists she follows on social media, she might want to use the same markers that they do. In general, alcohol markers are very popular these days, so set of inexpensive alcohol markers is probably a safe bet! 🌟

Hello! I haven't done that myself so I can't speak from experience... I don't know if the Copic nibs would fit into Ohuhu markers, because different brands often have different dimensions. Ohuhu makes their own replacement brush nibs now so you could try those (I don't know if they offer replacement fine nibs yet). Good luck with it! 😊

I just need to know if these bleed through colouring books.. can someone tell me?
@charofheart375 ай бұрын
I know some level of this info but I'm not very experienced with markers. Growing up, I didn't like how paper would shred or bleeds would tear the paper. I learned about different paper pounds on accident when a teacher that noticed I loved to draw and paint bought me a mixed media paper sketchbook as I graduated high school. In school art classes in there was always none bleed through acrylic or pastels or juat pencil art, so we used thin white paper on a roll. When I started watching anime, specifically Hayao Miyazaki's Totoro as a preteen and others as I grew into the fascination of scene and character making skills, I was inspired to work on my illustration skills for books and story making. I aim to get more skills practice to help my art look less 2D with different media than graphite. I did lot of pencil and charcoal art because it seemed to be more of a challenge for artist to make it look realistic without color. I found your channel on a website when I looked up Copic and the differences in the ones I plannned to buy on Amazon. Thanks for your hard work 🤗❤️👍🏽💯

Thank you for this! A lot of good information. I never thought of blending water based markers with a wet brush (as long as the paper is meant for wet media). Have you used Spectrum Noir markers? That is the brand I'm currently using. SO glad you have a YT channel now 😃🥳🎉
@thaneeya Жыл бұрын
So glad this video was helpful to you, Diane! Thank you for letting me know! 😊 If you have water-based markers, you should definitely try using a wet brush with them, because the effects can be quite beautiful. 😍 I did have a few Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend markers a few years ago, but haven't tried their other kinds of markers. They do seem like a good brand! I liked the Tri-Blends but they were kind of chunky for my small fingers, so I didn't use them much. 🤣 I tend to prefer the oval-shaped barrels because they're more comfortable for me. Thank you so much for your comment! 💖

How much color shadw should I buy for a beginner? 48 , 60 or 120m
@thaneeya6 ай бұрын
One factor to keep in mind is that the more colors you have, the more smooth blends you can make. So it's better to get a bigger set if you can afford it, although starting with 48 or 60 colors can still give you a good sense of what it's like to use the markers. Then later you can buy more colors if you really like using them. Hope this helps! 😃
