Very interesting. Now that I am home I may have a play with this, after I finish doing all the laundry, of course! I like the bright tropical colorway the best, but the grey and red one reminds me of a dity scape. It is quite nice too.

This is one of the 1st times I've been excited about trying an abstract technique. This looks like so much fun. Really love the 1st one you showed-the one you love as is. Beautiful. The others are nice as well. I have really enjoyed these last few months prompts. It's always nice to mix it up.

I love those❤ The grey one I would doodle on, as you said and the colourful one would look brilliant as background with a black and white image pn top. The more old fashioned the better. I bought a Richter print at SF MOMA because I fell in love with the colors and texture. I couldn't even guess how he got the distinctive look, except it sure didn't look like brushwork or spraying or splattering or anything I could think of. That technique looks like a lot of fun. I agree with you on your favorite; it's lovely as is. The red, rose, and gray piece looks to me like a dark, crowded, rainy city street with reflected headlights. The hint of a street light might give it a focal point and tell the story. For the other two, I'm clueless. tfs

Very cool; looks like lots of fun. About Richter's "squeegee" technique - he doesn't use real squeegees, of course, but has these giant squeegee-like applicators. Also, I think his orientation for those painting is set right from the beginning of the process. There are KZbin videos that show him at work on some - worth checking out, if you are interested.

Thanks so much. I have watched a few of his process videos and it’s fascinating. I’ve also seen his painting in the V&A and they are spectacular 💕

@@NinaRibenaMixedMedia Oh, yes, those paintings!! I saw some of the vast squeegee ones, as well as some representational and other ones, at San Francisco MOMA. It was an extraordinary show, to put it mildly. It's funny, but since I watched your video, my mind has been just brimming with ideas for how to use the technique, and lots of variations on it, too. And I don't even think of myself as a visual artist! I may have to go get some supplies and try to make them real.

The first one is absolutely stunning, but I also like the last one with the orange and gold, that is very fall looking with a lake scene. I would leave that as is. This is a very cool technique. I'm going to go and look this artist up now. I do not have a squeegee, but might have to buy one to try it out. tfs.

Its so much fun Heidi. You could always try it with either a piece of cardboard or a store card first. I think you’ll get good results this way too. Enjoy 💕

What a fabulous technique, and lovely results. I loved your "Monetish" one and the red and gold ones best. Perhaps you should continue adding more light layers to the other boards, maybe in a really unusual colour combination and see what happens. If they turn out yakky, there's always gesso!😁 Hugs xxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Nina. Oh gosh, the first one (blue/green) and the one in black, red and gold are both AMAZING! I think you should keep them just as they are and frame them... but a very simple frame that would not distract from the painting. The blue/green in a landscape orientation and the red/gold in a portrait orientation. The grey/pink one should look good as an abstract landscape (like you said) or, if you decide to doodle on it, I would do it with a brighter colour. Let's face it... I don't know much about art and colour compositions... but I know when I like something and I LIKE these... I'm off to the shop tomorrow to buy a squeegee!! 😊💕
