Hi Loves! Is there any topic you'd be interested in hearing in a future video with this type of format?

I feel you Robin! I am scared of painting nonrealistic things, even in my private sketchbooks, because people often react "disappointed" if you don't paint something they can understand or relate to!
@dianeo7 жыл бұрын
Yes! Not much support for a different style you try compared to what people are used to seeing from you. My husband refers to my more experimental pieces as being "out there" but I don't think he likes it as well. LOL
@RobinSealark7 жыл бұрын
I've always been so self conscious about my sketchbooks, wanting everything in them to look really well done and interesting. It's kept me from ever avidly keeping one and from using my sketchbook as a place to experiment. I hope you can liberate your sketchbook! make mistakes and weird, ugly art- make creative, weird, new, wonderful art too.
@percabethisawesome11637 жыл бұрын
realism is a first step to developing your style imo, tbh i find styles that stem from realism equally or more interesting as realism sometimes! once you've gotten the skills you should try to bend those rules & create something really unique, people's opinions don't matter as much sometimes especially when it comes to expressing yourself!

I like doing weird not realistic art. I only do realism to satiate my ego and prove to people I'm a "real" artist. The more I learn and get confident, the less realism I do
@Oriannelucot7 жыл бұрын
It's weird because I think I'm not an artist because of the fact that I only do realistic stuff... because I think doing realistic art is just copy a picture and the day I will be able to do some weird stuff and imagine these... I'm gonna be a real artist... ( oh and sorry for my english😂)
@BetoAzamar7 жыл бұрын
I do the same, but of course I am new. I just want to be able to paint the traditional stuff to keep silent the critics and ignorant people, but my plan is to keep on my own weird abstract ideas.

Congrats you just evolved! I'm kinda doing a weird independent study on art and it seems like this is almost a universal path for artist. People gravitate to realism but then you start to look inside. I guess its only natural for a person to want to explore their own subject matter. Art is unique to all of us and that's the beautiful part. Im happy you are expanding your boundaries, this is where the real fun begins!

I love how you are branching out with your art and I totally get it. My more realistic art gets way more compliments than the experimental stuff which is frustrating, but I go with what I'm inspired to create and shrug off the lack of interest in the other stuff. I'm just all over the place with styles: realism, impressionism, illustration, surrealism, even abstract.

Love that you're having fun in trying out a different style, which seems like it's drawing (lol, art pun!) from Surrealism, esp. the first one with the faces and legs. I enjoyed learning about other art movements way back in my high school art classes. Surrealism, Post-Impressionism, and Cubism were my favorite movements to learn about---the tumultous lives those artists led and the way they broke conventions of color, perspective, and form.

You inspire me to start painting again without doubting myself. You've remind me that I have a talent and it's important to use it or loose it. I am also inspired by Michelangelo who wrote: True art is made noble and religious by the mind producing it. Hi! I love the paintings you made during this video. The wave paintings are breathtakingly beautiful and skilfully painted, but I feel these new ones have more character. I'm a mostly selftaught artist and a trained jewellery smith, and my style has changed a lot over the years. Mostly due to changes in life in general. I tend to shift away from things that start to feel too much like routine - changing things up even a little bit gives you an extra boost to go on.

In my opinion painting realistically is not really art but just a lesson. Every artist needs to pass it and then go further to actually find themselves. Realism is boring, why would we paint something realistically when we can photograph it? (I'm not talking about hobby photography, but actual art which has an idea and effort behind it). To be honest I've always enjoyed your videos, funny and really really well done and I love your personality! But I never thought you are good at actual art, based on the paintings I've seen in your videos so far. Cause like I said: realism is boring when it's just an exact copy of the reality. I'm glad you choose to go on and change your style. I wish you the best and I'm looking forward to see your improvement! :)

Absolutely looove that last piece!!! Super cool spirited away, no-face vibes. As an artist I totally agree w the whole "realism is good art" actually trapping you a lot, especially when around people who don't know much about art and see a pencil photorealistic piece as "good" and everything else as "weird" or "i could do better than that". Looking at picasso's work helped me a lot, as he started out w realism before changing his style almost unlearning what he thought he knew about art, which is what ultimately helped him grow and change the art world foreveerrrr! so yeah, great video - thanks! :)

Woah! I really love that new art style pf yours! It's amazing, and, at least to me, so much more touching than realistic drawings. I will never get why people think only realistic art is "good" or "real" art. I mean, yeah, you may need a lot of skills to accomplish for that, but nonrealistic stuff, that weird, lovely stuff you did, it transfers so much more. It takes the the artist to be very creative.
