One idea I'm going to try in my next sketchbook (finishing my current one this week!!) is to make a list of goals in the front. That way, if you want to draw but don't know what to do, not only do you have your mental list of things to improve, you have a physical one so you can actually see the areas you wanna improve in!!

i'm a total perfectionist. every single page of my sketchbook looks like a complete illustration (just a bit smaller and less planned), and if it doesn't turn out good i rip it out. i'm attempting to solve this problem. i just ordered one of those 600 page sketchbooks that i heard about from holly brown. i'm going to use it as a "no pressure" sketchbook where i can just doodle during class with ballpoint pen, do studies and gesture drawings, and not be afraid to make mistakes. i'll still work in my "perfect" sketchbook because it's still satisfying to me, but i think adding the new one will help me build my skills and improve my habits.

I recently got back into drawing after a long period of nothing and I can definitely relate to feeling intimidated and feeling like everything has to be drawn with purpose and a strong vision. (when really I feel like I'm just stumbling around right now) I think I might be a bit of a perfectionist too, or at least really critical of myself.
