I just saw this now. I think if you paint that wooden divider shelf white, it will blend in with the background a lot more and give the illusion of more space. Your studio looks amazing you did such a great job on it. Very inspiring.

You did well, and it is true, it takes time to get used to, to a new layout, I did mine 3x before I found what works for me because the room was in the attic and it was small, now I am in a bigger room and i have to start all over again lol, but you inspired me to film it to give me perspective, thank you ❤ My thoughts what I would change on your layout: 1. I would take out the Armoire/glass cabinet 2. I would paint the frame of the self white, and I would sand and stain, maybe walnut colour the selfs, than your boxes would look better and stand out, by the way they are beautiful. 3. I would change the position of the desk in a way that your back of the chair would have the wall that is your cabinet behind, In feng shui that you give you somewhat a command position. 4. On the wall behind the chair, I would do a big painting/art or an art gallery wall to inspire and give colour to the room. 5. I would leave the easel where it is, I assume you are changing position when you work because of the light. 6.i would put the small sofa on the wall between the 2 radiators. I hope you don't mind my long comments and suggestions. Love the content and subribed. Love from rainy Wales

Wow thank you so so much for taking tiiiime to write such a big comment🫶🏼🫶🏼 Yes I definitely thought about taking the glass cabinet out, buuuut I have no other place to put it and nowhere to store it (out basement is too humid to store furniture) and it’s a heirloom. Maybe I‘ll find a place for it somewehere else in our apartment in the future 😊

I definitely think you made the right choice with the shelfs. I really like how the two "rooms" are divided. Maybe this video will motivate me to finally finish my office makeover. I also put all the things from the room on my dining table, but now it has just been sitting there for two weeks 😅

My mom lives with me and she has two dogs. I also have two dogs. My two sleep with me and I even wake up in the night to make sure they are not cold. My dogs always sleep with me. They are all small, maybe a tiny bit smaller than Tula.

Haha if they are two they probably take almost the same amount of space as Tula then! I just like to let her in bed in the morning for some cuddles and sometimes when we do a little nap 😴 so cozy!!

As an artist, why oh why would you let go of your fabulous work table🤷‍♀️I know everybody’s different but I would’ve tried the chair as the room divider facing your desk, left the shelves on the wall & put the work table where the chair was maybe? I just love my flat surfaces & having “options” of places to work😉Love the light, bright feel of your studio! What a lovely spot!😍

Just a thought for next time you rearrange. Turn the desk so the left end is against the window wall This way your chair can be in the window space.. you can look out get good light etc your back isn’t to the door coming into the room… and the cozy chair might fit in the space in front of your desk … going to watch your art clogs now.
