I owed Art2Life already so much but listening to this video this morning I new there is a shift starting, I just viscerally felt it in my body. I was working while listening and for the first time in my life I have made work that as a result makes me proud of myself and very happy!!!! Sending you my deep deep gratitude for gradually (CVP last year and the free workshop last week) and softly leading me to connect to myself. I am actually becoming the person I am ment to be. I am saving for the next year CVP! Love from Amsterdam to the whole team too!

I love these questions. I did notice that what's working for me is starting with structure on a piece and then going over it loosely and more intuitively with less perfection, which is so freeing. With the second question, covid has my work looking overall like a patchwork quilt, compartmentalizing and creating some visible order to my internal feelings of chaos and uncertainty. Thank you for your generosity of spirit and guidance!

Nick thank for being so positive ,your messages are so important to young artist Reflecting about our work and visualizing goals for the futures Personally I have to be “on the now” an expressed the present feelings, sometimes the experiment doesn’t come out the way I want but I accept that because I learned that dueling to much doesn’t help me that I know I’m working agains time Please continue teaching in your positive way , young artist need encouragement in a society that art isn’t recognize as a fundamental need .

Question 1:- What parts are working? What parts do I love. Write them down. Question 2:- Think about how the things you like relate to who you are. Why do you connect with them? Who are you at this moment? Question 3:- What do these things “feel” like? Picture what your art will be in the future. Connect to the “feelings” of where you want your art to be in the future. Write these things down. Thanks Nic, over thinking does sometimes get in the way of intuition for me, but it can also help to bring clarity. One Art teacher online is an existential Psychologist and she says… most of all “trust yourself “…. Cheers …..

It may seem like a simple concept but when you’ve incorporated a lot of judgmental ways of evaluating your art ( from negative art school experiences etc. ) it’s a huge step to start painting from your own gut and intuition and trust that something positive and serendipitous will come forth. Thanks for the reminder Nick!

What is working for me? I find myself experimenting in a major way. I look not only for the skill, result and process, but I am a bit philosophical and therefore appreciate these discussions that go beyond technique and tools! The core of WHO we are as artists…THANK YOU

Right now things are working for me, as I listened and realized why. Colors so muted they are almost neutral, yet it is still a color. WOW this is so helpful to me. I can see how this will save time and creative energy with out so much down time. ( :

This is a great concept to feel your way into what your work will look like in three years. Even if you can’t see what it will look like how it will feel can make a huge impact I’m sure.! Excellent excited about this new process.

This is really useful to me just at this point, today, Nick! Thanks for splitting this down and sharing these processes from your own experience, so clearly. I did CVP 2020 and my work has really changed and is so much richer now, more what I want it to be. You help is so appreciated. Thank you fir the quality of you art & your marvellous teaching.

Creating a space for where I want to go with my art. Imagining it as if it were real so I can recognize it and step into it when it comes. That wasn't just an aha moment for me...it was a religious experience! Wow! Thank you!

GerriBWales here Making me think about what stops me getting going is so very useful and what I need to do next. usually go to a communal setting to do my Art but that no longer an option so have to change to move forward with this. Doing a list is always my way to achieve things but with Art it has been different and so very airy fairy.. and hap hazard. I now feel need to get my room more organised to have the space to just dooooo some Art. Already planning what is needed with the start of a list.
