This was such a beautiful and helpful video. As a fellow introvert who knows nothing about film making, I’m inspired by what you’ve created so far.

And here's me doing everything with a phone and a little tripod 😄 Even though such videos are tremendously helpful, you obviously learn a lot more from literally doing it, like, what works for you, what you actually need etc. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge 🧡

I have one of those horrible bendy arm mounts for my phone AND a tripod and still feel like I need something else lol. The bendy arm is not long enough so it has to sit practically right in front of me while I film myself drawing in procreate. Not fun worrying about bumping it all the time! The tripod is ok for when I want to film myself working on my desktop. I'm a digital artist so it's a bit trickier to get whimsical pretty shots when you're on screen all the time 😅. This was a great video and once again giving me that "just go and start" push I need. Had a stupid instagram experience again yesterday working so hard on these reels and they just don't work like everyone says they will. Why don't I put the fun video editing to use somewhere good? Thank you for this!

I know! They're really not the best option. Never long enough, always too woobly or too stiff, always in the way. I've been thinking about a tripod too, but I think that works best for artists who paint more upright. My paintings just lay flat on the table and I don't have the space for one of those downward-pointed tripods on my desk. These new arm-thingies that I showed really are the best solutions I've found so far. Doesn't a tripod work for you though, if it's looking over your shoulder at your screen? If you can zoom in a bit? Ugh, I really feel you on the reels. It takes a surprising amount of time to shoot and edit even really short videos. At least if one wants to do it really well. And like you say: you might as well put that time and energy on creating KZbin videos that give you more creative freedom and actually have a life span longer than a week. 😅

What an awesome video! One can truly see, that you put a lot of effort into your videos. But what I like most about it is, that it is both helpful in terms of technique, equipment, processes etc. and inspiring at the same time. Like an artistic manual. I really love that! Keep up the great work!

I’ve just started my art channel. I love your videos, sound great. Thanks for the tips on equipment. I need to set mine up and use my computer more as I currently use my iPad for editing. It’s great but limiting.

Thanks for such a useful video, it's really motivating me to upgrade my current set up (antiquated iPhone + awful bendable phone holder)! Maybe then my art process videos will stop looking like they were filmed on a webcam during an earthquake.

This was fabulous watching your set up thank you, Louise. I have so much to learn, I still use my iPhone 8 for my classes and do have a Canon 5D3 but need an extension arm for my tripod so I never use it. Thank you for showing us the different camera angles, it made me think about how to change mine so they are more interesting. I recognised Gatinha by Cornelio music...I have used that also!

Just in case you didn't know this-- you can actually record voiceovers directly in final cut! when you have a project open go to windows -> record VoiceOver, it works well and eliminates the extra step of exporting from another software
@LouiseStigell
@LouiseStigell 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I tried that a few times, both in Final Cut and in Premiere, but I didn't like it for some reason. 😅 Maybe I was just not doing it right, but I got so stressed out by the video running in the background and trying to fit in everything I wanted to say in time, haha. In a lot of my videos, the script comes first and so I like to record it like a podcast and add the video on after that. That's probably possible in Premiere as well, now that I think about it... Maybe I should give it another try. 🤗 Thanks for the tip! 🙏🏻

This is so helpful, thank you for making this video ❤ I’ve tried making KZbin work multiple times through the years, but I never really got a nice ‘working flow’ and setup. In the last couple of months I started to get into it a bit more and seeing your video makes me realize new things I can add to my process, very inspiring! You also have such a nice voice to listen to and a nice esthetic in your video’s. Maybe it’s weird to say, but it’s also refreshing to watch art video’s from someone in my age range, if that makes any sense! 😂❤

I’ve always wanted to make a channel but the tech side is overwhelming to me. Thank you for the effort you put into this video! My biggest question is how you record that long on your phone and not run out of space? My drawings can take hours and I always thought I had to record in Timelapse but I would rather real time. When I tried this with a DSLR the files were too large for my laptop to handle. I would appreciate any tips you have! Love your work and your authenticity!

Hello! I have the same question 😂 I am a total newbie and borderline technophobe trying to figure this sgit out. I tried recording about an hour and a half of footage of me painting and it was like 45 GB total!!! Ok I shot in 4k because I know nothing! It pretty much used up all the space on my phone lol! It wouldn't even upload to my Google Photos so then I could remove it from my phone. I just ended up deleting the video which is a shame because it was not too shabby. Anyway, have you found a solution to this in the 9 months since you posted this comment?? Inquiring minds want to know😂😂 thank you so much!

Well yeah, that's me sometimes too... But I think it's good to let yourself ramble a little bit. It can get more natural and funny that way, and that's worth the extra editing time. 😁 Haha, you're right. That's what I love about YT. Everyone is welcome here. 😌

wow didn't realize it took THAT much! Why don't you use some of the Adobe software to edit your image instead of Procreate?
@LouiseStigell
@LouiseStigell 2 жыл бұрын
😅 I do use both Lightroom and Photoshop, for the first stages of the photo editing. I use Procreate with my iPad and Apple Pencil because I want to hand draw and write stuff. I can't do that on the computer because I don't have a tablet and stylus for it. 😊
