People usually talk about Tomas Haake and the rest of the band, but we need to give Jens Kidman some love, that man has been consistently screaming for the past 30 years without missing a single word. He really is an outstanding metal vocalist.

@@xenophagia Makes sense. I got the Neural DSP Nameless guitar plugin recently and was pretty surprised to see some presets by Jens. I was like...isn't that the *vocalist* of Meshuggah? And they were actually some of the most aggressive, spanky djent tones in the plugin...definitely some of my favourites. Most presets have either a descriptive name or some kind of jokey name but Jens' were all just 'Riff 1' and 'Riff 2' etc.. no indication of what they sounded like or would be used for. If he's writing a good amount of riffs for the band I guess those are the tones he uses!

It is like comparing an apple with the moon... sure... both are round and make music but that is where it ends. I respect both Deep Purple and Pink Floyd for their music and how they helped influence bands like Meshuggah to then take things further. But to compare them is insanity.

When was that? I also saw them in Bristol, for the first time. Was a long time ago though...around 2007 or so. Not seem them since so really need to get to a Meshuggah show soon. Nothing is my favourite album by far and the latest album isn't really my kinda vibe although I massively appreciate the skill behind it. But I know their shows aren't just about the songs they play but the whole experience...getting a massive wall of sound, thundering bass drums, an impressive light show and more. So I'm definitely up for seeing them soon even if they focus on the latest album more.

Simply insane how they manage to play Bleed LIVE, after 1 hour of show, and make it sound exactly like on the album ... These guys are from another dimension for sure, probably in a past life they were metronomes. Thanks Arte for recording this and making it available.

This has been one of the things I’ve wanted most for a long time. Ever since I started listening to Meshuggah in 2018, I’ve desperately wanted to see them live. Honestly, I wasn’t sure if I’d ever get the chance, but then they came to Bogotá, Colombia. It was the most epic, insane, and immense experience I’ve ever witnessed. They came, they conquered, and they left. Their level of consistency, professionalism, and passion for their craft and music is truly remarkable. Long live Meshuggah.

I've seen more bands live in my time as a fan and a performer over the last 25 years than I've got hairs on my head, I've seen everything from huge pop and R&B shows, down to jazz in holes in the corner of nowhere, right over to seeing Sunn O))) in a fucking cave, and of all the bands, no one, not a single one comes close to the live shows Meshuggah put on. CD perfect every time, most unfuckwithable light show on offer, and musical mastery that can only be found in this band. An utterly astonishing contribution to music.
