As a sound engineer, I am absolutely loving how they are sounding on a smaller stage than usual. And Eloy is bringing me back a little hope, something I always thought has been lost since Joey departed. It's just amazing to see them rock out in a smaller venue, where you can literally hear that they are still a great live band, not reliant on studio production, and can keep in league with the heaviest of them out there. I like that they seem to be embracing their own legacy now, and going back to revisiting their earlier sound that everyone loves, the sound that made them. This could be the beginning of the golden era of their resurgence as all time classic acts!

Small stage sound is so damn good. I think half the difference is the slower tempo too. I’ve been doing a lot of comparisons of Jay vs Eloy live footage and they play the songs soooo damn fast with Jay. I’m amazed Corey could could keep up. You can tell he has a lot more time to actually do his thing without blasting through every passage like it’s almost dinner time.

@@thomaswilliam2808Jay got fired for that reason. He can’t keep time for fucking shit. It was so bad he was literally back tracking his kicks because he couldn’t stop rushing the beat. You can see just how bad he is when you watch his studio performances of the slipknot songs. He’s constantly checking around to make sure he’s in time, he’s always pushing right against the tempo or going past it and he’s so much more focused on playing fast kick runs than playing something that works with nu metal. Excuse me?! Did they just went fully old school mode and started to sound actually amazing again??? This is what I actually wanted from them all this time and only now they decided to sound like in good old times like their life depends on it. About frigging time!
@clarenceoveur949715 күн бұрын
That's what a solid drummer will do for you. Not saying Jay or Joey are bad, they are great, but Eloy is in a whole different level. World class musician, could be playing with Tribal Tech right now, Slipknot is like a walk on the park for him lol Effortless! And one of the humblest guys around. Slipknot struck gold!
@deathcold_longplaysua484615 күн бұрын
@@clarenceoveur9497 It is not just about drummer. The vocals sound like in good old days, and in general the tempo is just done correctly. And because of all this they almost sound like in studio but live. And that is what I always wanted from them all these years. Sadly I still can't accept the fact that they fired half of original crew for... whatever the reason Corey and Clown has in their minds. But I'm sure that it's about money.
@clarenceoveur949714 күн бұрын
@@deathcold_longplaysua4846absolutely mate, they are all better! But that's definitely an Eloy effect, he injected new life and commitment to the other musicians. Can you imagine the feeling of playing with such a high caliber musician? The bar was raised beyond the stratosphere lol Same thing happened to Sepultura, Andreas and Paulo improved A LOT after Eloy. So Slipknot better take their parts seriously otherwise it will show. You can tell how Corey is pumped, this must be very inspiring to him, which is awesome!.

@@clarenceoveur9497 Let's just hope that all these changes that brought old school sound to Slipknot is not short lived, and that they will continue producing music in this style. Cause after they started firing members in last few years I was completely disappointed in them. And that is when I stopped following them, simply because they lost their quality that made them great. So now, when they started to giving us hope of returning back to the roots, I feel like I wanted to give them another chance, but I'm afraid to be disappointed again. This is why I'm happy and very cautious at the same time, because you know what they say: people who you trust can hurt you the most. So I rather wait with giving them another chance, until they get back on track and earn their trust back again.
