My other thought is that, I have learned if I have been using one brand far longer than the other, it’s easier to stamp a much higher approval for the one I’ve formed a great familiarization, and bond with, opposed to the new, more foreign brand. Each brand would need to be given an equal amount of time of use. I definitely see a distinct difference in the two brands. I wouldn’t even mind using both.

Agreed again! I did enjoy using the Arteza markers, and maybe I am more biased towards the Posca Pens because of their popularity. I think that we all tend to subconsciously choose art supplies based on popularity of brands from time to time, but there is always room for brands to improve, even those that we hold so high and praise to be the best! (:

U appreciate your honesty, lol. I was about to say that it seems like Arteza never stood a chance. Mediately you were using negative descriptive words about them but as an artist I get it! I really do. We fall in love with ideas and we fall in love with our favorite tools, toys and products. 🥰 The Posca has done well for you for a long time. "If it ain't broke don't fix it", right?! 😆😆 That said, thank you for doing this price. I have been struggling to figure out which brand to spend my money on. I need something that is bright, brilliant, solid and opaque, not streaky and translucent. So it seems like Posce would be the brand for me and I could buy specific colors separately of the Arteza. Thanks again and I loved both landscapes ❤️

I’m seriously so glad I clicked on this video. You basically answered all my questions about these two brands. I like using the gradient method for my works, and my question was how opaque arteza would be for that purpose. Thank you so much for making this! It was EXACTLY what I needed! 💯 Also, oddly enough, I like the Arteza piece more.

I know these were supposed to be mountains, but it looks like a beautiful ocean where the waves are picking up the colors of the sunset as the crash, it’s actually gorgeous, they both came out beautiful in their way, it looks like the same ocean at two different times, one earlier, and the other when the light changes, both painting are gorgeous, though I’m sorry, I know ocean isn’t what u intended, but like Bob Ross says, Happy Accidents 💕 The point though is that the are both beautiful in their own way, and u are so talented 🥰

Hey, I think that this video was very well made, the music, the camera, the lighting. I kind of assumed you were a very popular artist and got surprised by the low view count. That just tells me you've got a lot of potential especially in the video to compete quality wise. The biggest issue was I think you might of both overused and under utilized aspects of the pen. I think it would of been useful to do some smaller tests like hearts, or shapes. Layering the different colours. (Black on white, white on black). On the video the Arteza pens looked more vivid and bright which was in contrast to your commentary which tells me that the arteza markers have something pigment wise which for some reason makes it looks brighter on camera. There were a few moments you sounded frustrated and I think part of that was both projects were very big and time consuming and that you were disappointed with aspects of the pens that they never advertised for. (Mixing them with water) Which isn't bad! Its just I would of wanted to see more examples of seeing how the Arteza's did with layering up close though! And maybe some tests with art that is more pop and less painterly in style not because the art was bad, it was good! But because those are things posca does well with and I wonder if Arteza would too. So in conclusion, I think you did an exceedingly impressive and professional video but that your focus on doing two finished pieces that were quite large took away from testing the features individually n a controlled matter and that the project might of taken over the later half of the video. I think you can only get better from here. Have a good day.
@allyvineart574

Thank you so much for this comment! I truly appreciate the constructive feedback. I think that I was trying to accomplish so much in one video that a lot really got away from me. I have been think that I may do a part two to this video in order to cover a bit more information that I may have skipped over or didn't touch on at all. I attempted to create that bold and "pop"ish look that you usually see with Posca art, however my style of art kind of ended up creeping its way in and the final piece looked a lot different from what I originally had planned. I definitely plan on using these markers again in future videos, I will try to cover more info on them in said videos as well. Thank you for you support, and again thank you for taking the time to let me know what I need to improve on in the future. I hope you have a great week and you're staying safe! (:

No problem, thanks so much for watching! I know that Posca marker sets are usually a bit spendy, so if you are able to just get the single markers that might be the best option because you never know if you'll like the medium until you try it. I have the 15 count set which, on Amazon, retails for 40 dollars American, but you can also get and 8 count set on Amazon for 20 dollars American, which I think is a much better option for a starter set. I know that craft stores like Micheals and Hobby Lobby also sell the single markers, so this is also an option if you want to pick and choose colors. Hope this helps!

The Arteza pen nibs that are supplied in the pens can be taken out and turned around, so you have a large bullet tip and a finer tip, plus the spare nibs which are chisel one end and fine on the other end. They work really well over dark colours. I'd have been interested to see you do the comparison on black card, so we could compare the opacity. I find you have to shake and pump the Arteza pens quite a lot as you go along.

I use the stippling to blend POSCAS. I learnt it when working with ink and ball points and when i used POSCAs and found they didn't blend, I used this to blend them. However, I don't use them like this. I actually use lots and and lots of dots to blend them together. Also, finer tips work better but they are so much more time consuming. Although, i like this style, too.

The Posca pens are not difficult to find in the states. Thats 100 percent untrue. They are actually one of the most readily available paint marker brands out there. They come in singles and sets. You can get them on Amazon, Michaels, cheap joes and just about every art supply and craft store in all major cities and online. Arteza on the other hand I've personally only seen on Amazon.
@allyvineart574
@allyvineart574 3 жыл бұрын
Personally speaking, I have had a hard time finding them in the states. My local art supply stores and even the bigger chains are almost always out of stock on all color/nib options for Posca pens. I wasn't speaking as though it was a fact, I was stating my personal experience in acquiring the markers. They are definitely in abundance online, but the prices online are usually steeper than physical craft stores, from what I have seen.

It seems like the prices just keep going up too which is a bummer. I've noticed that more local (not chain) art supply stores charge a bit more, which is understandable because its a smaller business, but it definitely sucks for us artists 😭 Definitely try the Arteza ones, I also will be posting a review for another alternative brand here in the next week or so, make sure to keep an eye out for that as well! 😁

I actually made a video where I used both of these markers together, I posted the video a couple of months ago! I haven't tried these particular markers with any other brand other than each other, but they both worked well together. So I would imagine that as long as you're using acrylic paint markers with these markers they should work well! 😁

So, this is late and I didn't catch it, but you blended with water correct? Even though they are acrylic, you might have seen better results if you used some form of Alcohol based liquid. I don't know if it would work the same with the pens, but I know if you use it with other acrylic paints say for example Acrylic house paint, you can thin it with something like Vodka without losing pigment, but again I don't know if it would work the same with pens. Loved the video!

My arteza paint markers came in a cardboard box the only plastic was the tray the markers were in and the bag the extra nibs came in. Also on artezas website they're cheaper. Like I bought the 42 set and I paid $43 dollars without shipping. So it's about a dollar in change per marker. Where is a $16 count of posca pens are $28.99 at walmart.

Arteza usually has a lot of sales that help with the price, I just used Amazon because that's where I bought my particular set. It' good to see that they switched to cardboard though, I definitely would've preferred that packaging. But for the price, I think Arteza markers are great!

@allyvineart574
@allyvineart574 4 жыл бұрын
They both would definitely work for calligraphy, I haven't personally used them for calligraphy but I have seen people do it and as long as you're careful they should work out great! As for being on the canvas, I would think that they would work but you would have to be pretty careful, the canvas is usually pretty textured and the paint pens have a tendency to splatter on uneven surfaces. However, if you go slow and are meticulous with your lines, I would think they would work just fine!

I have never personally used either marker on glass, though I know for certain that Posca markers can be used on glass. Because of the similarities, I would think the Arteza markers would work as well! You probably don't HAVE to put anything on top of them, but if its something that is exposed to weather or people/things touching it, I would definitely put a light clear coating on top. I will be making a part two to this video, I will see if I can test both of these on glass!

Which works better for denim pants and doesn't fade after multiple wash?
@allyvineart574
@allyvineart574 4 жыл бұрын
I know that people have used Posca markers on denim after first priming the clothing with a layer of white fabric paint. I'm not totally certain about the Arteza markers on denim, I would imagine they would work similarly, however it seems like the Arteza markers are a bit more watery, so it would likely take multiple layers and I would definitely use some sort of sealant on the clothing after you finish your artwork. As for washing, I'm not totally sure how either marker would react after multiple washes, but if you do create art on clothing with either of these markers definitely hand wash and hang to dry, I wouldn't risk throwing them in the washer or dryer. You could also get a scrap piece of denim from old pants and try the marker of your choice on the fabric first, then see how it lasts in the wash before creating a full piece on your pants. I know this wasn't terribly helpful, but I am hoping for the best for you! 😁

@allyvineart574
@allyvineart574 3 жыл бұрын
They both can be used on either surface, although for the wood it would be best to lay down a layer of gesso or white paint before hand so that the paint from the markers doesn't bleed throughout the wood, and you'll get brighter colors this way! I also suggest putting gesso down on stone if it is a darker stone, just for brighter colors and to allow the paint from the markers to stick to the stone a bit better! 😁
