It is possible to prevent the spread and progression of osteoarthritis ✅
In order to do so, it's important to make sure you understand what osteoarthritis is and what is actually going on inside of your joints...as many people are led astray.
Osteoarthritis is not solely a "wear and tear" condition and this is good news because it means relief is possible. Research has uncovered that inflammation is one of the big drivers in the progression of osteoarthritis. Taking a look at what increases inflammation as well as how you can modify those factors is key to stopping your arthritis from getting worse.

Where do practice? I'm in Southern California! I have a love-hate relationship with pop-ups. My friends say I get too many and they are annoying. The reason I keep them is because in the murky sea of pop-ups, there of occasional gems. Like this one! Thanks so much for your clear, concise, informative presentation. Thank you for leaving out the fluff & hype. Thanks for not saying you'll tell us something in 3-10 minutes & take at least an hour. I never have bought the wear tear theory completely! Even though I had spent 35 yrs working in grocery stores , with some second jobs along the way. All physical jobs. Thanks for the video. Due to a friend I met last year, I havecmade some dietary changes. I thank the people who left comments as well! None of the nastiness I find on other channels. People are very encouraging & helpful. I have OA in both knees , as well as, bone spurs in the right. I have found a handful of websites that also dispel what we are told by mainstream stream doctors that it all about wear & tear &/or past injuries, sometimes the haven't healed correctly. Prior to finding out I had knee OA , I'd known a number of people who had OA in various limbs. I knew basically what to expect from doctors. I was happy when my doctor offered me physical therapy ( this was after I'd been on meds for a while). The therapist really understood the ins & out of working at a grocery store. ( Though the years I've been to physical therapy for various injuries & so many doctors. Basically, all I heard was have them give you a desk job or some have you answer phones ( obviously they think a people in grocery stores sit to answer phones). Anyway I found out she gave presentations to many industry heads, including those of grocery store. I was blown away by this! I told her at the store level , there is a lot of preaching about safety, but when it comes down to the nitty-gritty, it's about getting your job done within a certain amount of time, in a certain way. Safety isn't a priority. If it was, there would be many fewer on the job injuries. Then again we can never get a true number of employees that don't go on workman's comp because many people just tuff it out or if they have medical insurance they use it instead of going to the workman's comp doctors. Over the last 20 yrs there have been many magazine articles on this topic. May everyone heal without having to have surgery.! I will definitely check out your other videos. Thanks so much for the care you take in doing your videos. I am definitely going to subscribe!

Alyssa is very right. When i am constipated or when i est sugar, junk food, processed food, my knees hurt. But when i have regular bowel movements, when i eat healthy with lot of vegetables and fruits, i have no pain, no stiffness. @@CapeCodBelle nature is the best healer, especially the sun and the fresh air from ocean. Try to be in the sun early in the morning before 10am, and after 4pm. Now you know why you feel good when you go on vacation. Breathe deeply, slowly fresh air. Do all these things even when you are not on vacation. I am new to osteoarthritis and trying to understand it. May sound weird but this brought me to tears because you explained it so well and how and why nutrition and exercise help. Life as I knew it ended after a tick bite. 2 years later & after 3 rounds of antibiotics, I am left with constant hip, knee, ankle pain & weakness. MRI"S show moderate to severe arthritis with effusions that were not there pre tick. Forced into early retirement with alot of time on my hands, I put on 30 lbs in a year because of self medicating myself with sugar & inactivity (watching alot of KZbin to pass the time). But these videos have been instrumental in giving me hope that I can live with what I am left with after Borrelia infection damage done to joints & nerves. Diet & sleep & exercise & attitude are key to recovery. Never, never, never give up.

Smoothies, fresh juices, herbal teas, etc. I still had Osteoarthritis and needed surgery. I’ve gained more weight than I’ve ever had. Menopausal weight & pre diabetes may have contributed to the damage. Perhaps I can get a nutritionist going forward to prevent damage in other joints. I take supplements as well. So far recovery has been going well. I am concerned about limping. I was before surgery and still notice limping. I hope it improves with time. Thank you for the information

Thank you so much. Good advice. I have osteoarthritis in both knees. It hasn't gone any worse, within the last three years. I exercise, nearly every day. Yoga and pilates, really help me. I wish I had your lovely shaped arms!! You obviously work out. They look amazing. Love your videos.

Thank you for this. I felt so fed up when I was recently informed that my arthritis in my left hip and lower spine is deteriorating, the pain is debilitating and it affected me in so many ways. I had a Rt THR in 2020, which gave me a new lease of life, so I was so disappointed/ anxious to realise that the other hip and arthritis in my spine is also now deteriorating, I dreaded going back to that awful painful time, and to find that my mobility would be totally compromised again.😢 I felt just like you described, hopeless and helpless and in pain.😢 I wallowed in this feeling for about a month, thinking I couldn’t do much about it, then I started to watch your videos and realised that I didn’t have to just give up or go mad in exercising, or have the all or nothing approach, but in fact I could do some gentle exercises and build up the 30 mins throughout the day, this was a turning point for me tbh. I am now doing these sets of exercises, accumulated your from various videos on here, that I have “ tuned” for my workout. Some days are easier than others, but I’m doing them! I’ve also started swimming gently and doing some exercises in the pool, twice a week. Over the last few days I have noticed that my balance is becoming better, I’m not as aware of major pain, this is such a boost for me both mentally and physically, I have now changed my mindset to “what can I do for myself” rather than “I can’t do anything now, this OA is in control”. This has made me feel so much better in myself, I have taken a bit of power back and will continue to watch and learn from your videos, which are so uplifting and helpful. They also cover lots of different topics re diet etc that are so educational. Thank you so much for all your advise and support 🤗

Dearest Alyssa I have found your videos to be truly a gift from God. I would like to follow the exercises and tips you share. However, I am facing a hardship and have a humble request to make. I am a bone on bone 57 year old Muslim woman and my faith does not allow me to see anyone uncovered above the knees. I know that my request may sound absurd but I have seen videos of you in tights instead of shorts. If it does not inconvenience you too much could you just think of helping me in this. Lots of love and dua Peace

I will follow u, and i will try my best. To get myself to where I once was. I have degenerative osteoarthritis in both knees, hips, and spine. Also a condition called retrolisthesis. Like the above wasent enough. Everything u said made so much sense. With all that I have taking med. For inflamation. In the last few years my exercise and movement to move has decreased lots. Will follow all u said. Hoping and believing what u said, making so much sense. I can see myself getting being in a better frame of mind. With the word HOPEFUL In mind. More active, more exercise , and movements small or big... ARE KEY. At 67., never did i think id slow down as much as I have. My most pain is in legs. Where I feel tightness, and then the bones below knees get hardened, where sometimes I cant streghtened myself or move till it passes. Very painful. Ive teued lots, got nothing to loose by doing and followin this post. Thanxs for sharing with us. Ur truly AMAZING!

Thank you so much Alyssa! Your explanation of OA is so helpful to me, I have taken notes so that I can refer back to this and continue to take action. Since I found you on IG, my OA has improved and I am so grateful. When you understand, it motivates you to take action versus depression and hopelessness. My Dr. says its a problem with your cartilage. Well, that is a simplified version. However, the more information the more motivation! Thank you again for making a difference in my life.

Hi Ms. Alyssa, I am so excited for your SO IMPORTANT INFORMATION to help folks understand how their bodies work. I am 13 years a certified Personal Trainer, Group Instructor, Senior Fitness Specialist & Holistic Wellness coach. I am working on my own KZbin platform to provide common sense ways to improve their overall health naturally. Your method of plain speech that breaks down complex issues in ways regular people can understand is so refreshing and lines up with my own goals of helping people work WITH their bodies and REDUCE destructive behaviors that are breaking down their bodies (physically & mentally). I am NOT a doctor and don't claim to have all the answers but I have seen first hand with clients from 17 years old and up, how today's "modern habits" are harming our population. THANK YOU!! Patty Worthy - Thrift Worthy Wellness coming out soon! ps would love to chat offline if you ever have time. peace & blessings

Just back from my pool routine. It's interesting.. if I miss a couple of days I feel like a lead balloon labouring through mud - just very heavy and slow. I have to stop do some wall exercises ,swim a little, more wall, and build up flexibility. I be am on treatment that causes all body stiffness - several interchangeable diagnostic labels - and it's neurotoxic over time too latest diagnostic label being MS. I try not to over heat - one guideline I was given w inflammation was " don't go for the burn!" - so these are wonderful as small repetitive s to stay flexible and detox too:)
