As a fellow doll collector I was ready to come for your throat as soon as I read the title 😤😅 I have less than 15 American girl dolls tho, nowhere near 200 lol. I have a bigger Barbie collection. You gotta do what makes you happy in this life. There’s so much hurt and corruption in the world. Collecting dolls isn’t hurting anyone and helps us heal our inner child ❤

American Girl dolls in the USA cost $115 then the special ones like the Disney princess dolls are $125 and then the limited edition doll's are $250ish and can go up to $300 dolls depending on the collaboration. Then older dolls from the 80 and 90s The older dolls can be very expensive depending on if the dolls are original in box and have original outfit then in good condition and stuff like that

@@phoeberossiter3006 and I love that because they don't shy away from the ugly and honestly brutal side of history. I took a class last year about children's literature and for an assignment I re-read some of the books from Samantha's collection... Child labor, parental loss, sexism, flu epidemics... All engaged with seriously and respectfully. So I went to Addy's collection expecting it to be worse... In the first book alone, she's been born into slavery, her family is divided, she's whipped and beaten by the people who own her, she's got to abandon her baby sister in order to survive her escape so their family is further divided... Written and illustrated by Black women as well. In the early 90s. I LOVE these books and I'm so glad I read them as a kid.

when i was growing up, each full-size doll was $140, outfits, accessories, pets, furniture etc. all cost extra. i believe they’ve gone up in price since but not by $110 on average so a significant amount is definitely spent on the extras. as an adult, i cannot wrap my mind around my parents spending the money for me to have 7 dolls with pets, clothes, furniture, etc. so i cannot FATHOM this collection.

I collect Magic the Gathering, over 6-figures worth or less than $30k if I were selling it (because it’s not about appraisal, really but what someone would buy it for and I not wait ages to sell it.) I have only sold one card, ever. My smartest buy was buying 10 “Chains of Mephistopheles” way back for like $20 each and now they’re listed so very high. $600 I think? I’m not sure if they’ll always hold their value and it may all go bust but I’ve never spent $400 for any card just to have it in my collection. I’ve been playing since 1995. Every card I’ve ever opened a pack for is in my collection, except for one. I also collect early Mickey Mouse merch, the pie-eyed style. That’s a much smaller collection except for a cel production probably worth $2k. I have other cels but they’re not at all worth that much.

Most react channels would honestly overreact and over analyze everything to make it seem weirder than it actually is just to rile up their audience for engagement and viewers 💕. So glad I discovered you and your channel earlier this week i’ve been watching your content nonstop 💀🫶🏼
