In Germany We have sockets next to the sink in the bathroom. For Hair Dryers and electric toothbrush. Only zone you cant install is 120cm from Bathub/Shower
@TheChipmunk2008
@TheChipmunk2008 2 жыл бұрын
Much more sensible in my opinion. The old UK distrust of sockets in bathrooms goes back to the days when most UK houses had no central heating/insulation, so the bathroom in winter was NOT a happy proposition, and people would do stupid things like have open electric 'bar' heaters propped up in any location they would balance. Time's moved on , but the regulations haven't (except for changing from 3m to 2.5m in the latest issue, for some weird reason)

Just a heads up, you showed the key fob ID on video. Someone with a fob copier can create an exact copy.
@micsen9
@micsen9 2 жыл бұрын
This is very true anyone with a Proxmark, a Chameleon or a Flipper Zero or any other device From the ID it looks like the system only uses a 4Byte UID which is displayed as a decimal number I recommend recycling that key fob. You can most likely add any 4 byte UID credentials to the system. Maybe even give your forgetful employees implants as a option 😅

What a coincidence, just finished watching Dave Savery and Nigel fitting an EV charger and Dave’s not keen on them, but because your company fits them quite regularly, they same to be no hassle for the team. Nice to see the ‘background heroes’ who help run the business too.

A lot of them are poorly designed inside . To be fair, the ones Artisan mostly use seem to be above average (as befits the company!). Oddly, given my dislike of Tesla in general, their latest wall connectors are really well designed, but still no PEN fault detection :P

Nice video! Worth checking that USB socket that the two earth terminals on the back are actually joined together, rather than there being one for each socket (no, really! See Big Clive's YT for a tear-down). Just needs an wire link between the two terminals :)

Really interesting to see an average day for you, Jordan. I got a Flexispot desk at Christmas and really like it - for long meetings it's nice not to be stuck sitting the whole time. I also like how you can reuse an existing desktop with their system. PS was it a dodgy light fitting that was causing the problem with that RCD tripping?

2 questions That's a big cu, how many ways? That little spacer for the sockets is exactly what I need as I can't sink the back box in any further, where can I get one from? Or is that only for plasterboard boxes? Thanks 👍
@garythespark6295
@garythespark6295 2 жыл бұрын
If you google double socket spacer you’ll get them at screwfix. Always better to install a deeper box but these are handy as well. Just pay attention to the style of the spacer. Some have rounded edges, some have square edges. Best to match it to your socket.

Check the load on the ring circuit you intend to spur off for the bidet which you are correct, heating will take a big chunk of the circuit capacity. In the US I would always put them on a dedicated circuit. That’s a bigger job of course and sometimes you choose a simpler fix to save money for the customer but load usage often determines the long-term install needs.
@TheChipmunk2008
@TheChipmunk2008 2 жыл бұрын
Heating for a bidet will likely take 8A max, and only when in use. :) Remember we don't have the 80% limit the US does :) But yes ideally, new circuit, but when retrofitting, you does what you has to do ! We've just done the electrical for a new garden office/gym, but lots of the sockets may be used with running machines, which can have a high and unsteady load, so most of the sockets are on individual 20A radials
