I don't believe it's a bear that took the snack. Raccoons are incredibly intelligent and they love hikers and campers and they can operate a D ring. Edit: my husband wanted me to add that you should learn to tie knots because the raccoons can operate the rocking d rings and other sorts of gadgets. He also suggested putting a bell on your line so that you know when someone is disturbing your food.

Aside from the mosquitos and the snack bag situation etc this looks like an adventurous trip, the lake view looks beautiful. I've never been camping thanks for sharing you're adventure, your ability to focus and paint so well with everything the two of you had to endure and mentally adjust to during the trip is amazing, I dunno how well I would have done with all the natural distractions 🌳🛶⛺❤

I use the safflower to clean my oil paint brushes and the linseed oil to paint. I also paint whit watercolours. I’m in Australia so not sure but the food and stuff is stored away from tent so not to attract bears and they eat you?
