Thank you for the video. As soon as I select the E key to extrude, the cylinder moves when I move my mouse. What am I doing wrong?

Try to Go to Edit Mode, select faces that you want to extrude , press E, and then move cursor

You can also inset the top and bottom ngon, and pick the top and bottom inner circle ngon, then hit bridge edge loops

Glad I could help! have you try to go to Edit Mode and use Extrude along normals.
