Good work El! Could definitely see the progression. Always a good laugh when Jimmy's around that's for sure. One tip I can give you is to lift the pitcher a couple centimetres higher so the milk blends in better. I noticed you had the pitcher resting on the lip of the cup. Lift high when blending and drop the pitcher down when making the art. Overall, the technique is there. Did absolutely well in 30 mins!

these are the giants we've heard of in the stories of old. lol no wonder she's more comfortable with the smaller pitcher, its thr same proportion to her as the bigger pitcher is to him. the big pitcher IS the 'small' pitcher to him. great vid, fun times. i rarely order milk drinks n i only just learned how to pull shots but i just work at our coffee warehouse location so im not even bothering to learn the milk part but maybe one day..

If anyone watching this is frustrated that they are still having a hard time, make sure that you have good quality milk foam. It took me forever to realize that my problem was my milk foam not my art skills. If your milk is too thin it simply won’t work. I understand why they had Jimmy texture the milk for this video, but that really is the most important step when learning latte art.

I’m a barista and sometimes I can make good latte art for a straight week but then all of the sudden I can’t make good art even tho I think I’m making the same steps. Frustrating and idk what to do. I want to be consistent. Do you have any advice for me?
@ArtistiCoffeeRoasters
@ArtistiCoffeeRoasters 2 жыл бұрын
This is common. It’s usually from not having a formula that you follow each time and just guessing with every pour. We use the 1,2,3 drop method to give people a pattern they can repeat and practice. Try work out a pattern for yourself and let me know how you go. Jimmy ✌🏻

As a beginner can you practise this with detergent drop as some suggest? I tried but it was just creamy froth without definitions. AND is the type of milk important, Ie dont use mix plant blends or soy as a beginner . Art is with the milk .... so is it full milk? I notice in the step after the blend she begins to not pause but centre in heavier so the froth comes out. I tried but just got the blob. Always a blob never the mushroom. wether it be a better mixed blob from an improved consistency . Am I tipping out too quickly ?? So fustrating. I will try again tommorrow. I have given up for now but im determined to nail it , I only have a delonghi dedica to practise on . It makes a good creamy mix of milk. I know its just me!!! Thanks for all the great videos too
@ArtistiCoffeeRoasters
@ArtistiCoffeeRoasters 2 жыл бұрын
Oh Michelle I can feel your frustration! You’ll get there! The detergent trick is only for practicing milk texturing, you can’t pour with it. Latte art is always easiest with full cream milk. It’s likely that you’re getting a blog because you have too much froth and you haven’t spun your milk enough to blend it. Start with a little froth and add more if it’s too thin. Thick milk won’t pour well. If your not spinning enough, the milk won’t be blended and it with seperate the milk from froth. Keep at it. Anything else I can answer for you? Jimmy ✌🏻

@@ArtistiCoffeeRoasters thanks so much Jimmy . I relooked at some of your previous clips too to revise some steps. AND i bought some full cream milk. I took the Panillo off the steam wand ages ago . Im obviously ripping the milk for too long and not spinning the ratio more. ive tried to keep it to 3 seconds... Will revise the jug spout and keeping the work to the centre... will persevere..Love the you tube content you guys create XXX

@@ArtistiCoffeeRoasters I found the issue! The espresso has too much foam to begin with! When I pour the steamed milk, the milk foam combined with the espresso foam create this immovable top layer. So I spooned out 90% of that espresso foam, and a miracle happened! I poured the steamed milk and it started to appear on top!
