As I watch this, it’s fascinating to see his facial expressions now and again still show the wonder of the small boy discovering art!

Thank you for sharing Thomas Shaffer painter's story here. He's a Master, really! His manner to understand the life through the watercolor painting, inseparatebly, is incomparable. In this he became the great artist he is now.

I stumbled on this because I am returning to my love - painting watercolor. This video, Mr. Schaller's words, his philosophy, are nothing short of inspirational...and life-inspirational, too. Thank you Mr. Schaller, and thank you ArtistsNetwork.

Discovered W. Schaller through saving one of his paintings from Pinterest. Decided to find out more. I found what he had to say about being an artist, observing light, storytelling in his paintings, layers of perspective, etc., really inspiring. Light is so ephemeral, transitional, I wish I could capture it as he does.

Lights, shadowing, drawing. Just started water colors, about two months ago. Love it. Right now just doing whati like, flowers, trees, bushes, sky, bright colors. Color is one thing that can be fixed, no mistakes with color. Love it and it is fun. Thanks for your story.
