Love your art. So beautiful. I watched your other video on these paints. I wasn't familiar with them so now it's great to see them used. I'm in awe of your beautiful, casual journal page. Love the glow effect! Need to get some of these.

Lovely! It is nice seeing more techniques on how to use the interference paints. When I saw the color swatches, on a site where you can order them, I had no idea what to use them for. But now I have a much better idea. Thank you.

@@ArtontheBrain what is the "soft soap" you recommend?

@@princecaspianofthesea5905 Hi! Any liquid soap will work. Or also Ivory dish soap.

Oh boy have I killed brushes. Repaired with brush cleaner, but the raggedy brush will always be. Thanks for the dish soap idea, as I had given up.......so started to use a stick, or the nozzle on some thin needle masking fluid. I also bought a brush, with the other end a grey rubber flat tool, just for applying the masking fluid. Does the soap, make you feel like you always need a second coat of the masking fluid, to get it thicker? Or is it the brand you use? I haven't seen a white brand before? I use the masking fluids a lot, so I bought a few different ones to try out. They range from cool yellows to cool pastel blues. I usually like the colours of the masking fluids on my work, so after I remove the masking fluid, I often find I am using the cool yellow or blues as watercolour in my work, as I get used to the way it looks, and when I remove it, sometimes the watercolour is needed again over the white. Thanks Kelly for showing me how to use interference paints. I love DS, and stayed away from them all, but did see a nice video on the pearlescent white added to other colours. I can see how it helps fantasy art pop....so thanks again for the painting video......Eliza in Sydney, Australia

Eliza, somehow I missed this comment from a year ago...so sorry! I hope you've figured out the masking fluid to your satisfaction. I go back and forth between the white masking fluid and the colored stuff (pale yellow or blue), and I thing I do prefer the white, for the exact reasons you mentioned. The colors do influence your painting! The only thing I don't like about it is that it's difficult to see while you're applying it. As for using the soft soap, I try to coat the brush without using too much soap, so it protects the brush without affecting the masking fluid too much. So, then I usually need just one coat. Once it dries, I sometimes do see thinner spots that I go over again quickly before starting to paint. Sometimes while I'm masking, if I notice the masking fluid starting to stick to the brush, I wash it out, then recoat it with soap before finishing. I hope things are going well for you in Australia. This last year or two has been pretty hard for everyone...and painting, to me, has been a great gift.
