Wow that pthalo green with the interfence blue - amazing! Great video. I'm just now playing with the DS watercolor grounds and love the DS luminescents. Thanks for putting this online!

To my eyes, the interference blue is the most spectacular colour. I love the gold ground - definitely a 'must have'.

I use a silicone makeup brush to apply watercolor ground. There's no brushstrokes really and it won't mess up my brush.

Thank you. Beautiful. I'd love to see you use this good on a project. I appreciate your showing the color layering. I like them over a color too! You should do a little art journal flip through. You are very talented :).

Thank you so much! I just need to finish a journal...I seem to have worked in 5 or 6 of them, depending on what I'm doing...then I get caught up in something else! 😂

I was looking for the links you mention. ?? (e.g., using black ground, etc). I'll just look under your posts & prolly find them easily that way.

What's the difference between gold gesso and gold watercolor "ground"?
@ArtontheBrain4 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Gold gesso is used as a primer for acrylic paints. Absorbent ground creates a surface that is absorbent so you can paint on it with watercolor. It can be used on many non-traditional surfaces to turn them into watercolor-paintable suraces.

Watercolor ground is actually an acrylic-based primer but made with pulverized watercolor paper (or cotton rag) into it so that it can absorb rather than repel water. So it's essentially gesso (or glow glaze/matte medium) but with paper ground up into a fine powder to create that cold-press texture. I've seen KZbin videos of homemade versions of gesso and ground. And I'm sure you can add very fine gold mica, if you want your ground to be tinted like the one featured in this video.
