I watched it for 3 hours straight and I didn't get bored. There are elements of surprises, humor, little dramas and a lot of knowledge about painting. I really enjoy watching it. Thank you.

Kuddos to all these brave souls willing and eager to paint under pressure in order to grow as an artist - I'm rooting for you all! 🥳 Way-to-go Milan Art for offering these monumental challenges for artists to engage in...I've never seen ones that are so multi-layered. Most contests are to paint just one thing like a portrait or landscape with a time-constraint, but these challenges have limited supplies, special focus aspects, unusual mood/atmosphere/color/thematic elements, plus the time limits! I signed up in Feb. and have been challenged to draw things I wouldn't have previous to this, not to mention I'm learning how to paint with oils!💛

I know there are certain rules when painting' but at the same time art is subjective and I felt a lot of the judging was completely unfair. I felt the judging was based on what the judges liked and if there were other artist judging the paintings the scores would most definitely be completely different.I absolutely loved Esters ariel view of the ocean with the colors blue and orange. I felt the judgement was so harsh. It was my favorite. My point is, I hope none of the artist take lower points as a reflection of their paintings. Constructive criticism is always helpful, but nobody can say whether someones paintings is salable or not. What is art to one may not be art to another.
@veronicadelmar_7 ай бұрын
I disagree. The scores are absolutly fair based on those certain rules. That's the point that they need to follow rules of challenges. The judges teach artist to make art sellable for art collectors and they know much about that so that's the reason why they jugde the sellability of each piece and that has nothing to do with their personal preferences

I’m not sure if these series will continue, and I am not sure if anything beyond this episode was changed with respect to these challenges, but I think there can be a ton of improvement to the way things are being done. Going first when choosing from the bucket does not necessarily give you any sort of advantage or help one in any way shape or form. It would make a whole lot more sense if the choices from the bucket were on full display and allow the contestants to chose their “ticket” in the order of their rankings. If that is considered unfair then hide the rankings until the moment of elimination and simply do a random order when picking tickets from the bucket. I think that would make a whole lot more sense and would give the viewers the surprise element when it comes to who will win and who will be eliminated. I also think the artists should have more choices how they do their work. Taping the paper or canvas to the big board is not a natural way of working. They should have tables, easels, drawing boards that can be turned around, etc. Another idea would be to limit the use of the background music since it is just a bit too much.

Did Michael actually say he had pushed his boundaries? What an insult to the other participants and someone more committed could have had his spot. It’s like in his life, he’s been given a gold star for breathing…

I wish they had told us the scores for the last challenge (instead of combines). But I did enjoy watching this and was surprised by some of the paintings. Christina’s was weird and possibly creepy but I felt it was portraying the effects of war. She didn’t need that third eye. Lol but I think we all make decisions while painting that’s unexpected or may not work. I’m loving Barb! She’s amazing with all her challenges except the overalls. lol

I'm loving season two. I do thi k the episodes are a bit long, but I just pause and cone back or fast forward. I think it would be a more even playing field if all of the artists were given the same parameters and see what they come up with. Like if all of the artists had to do a landscape using only three colors and no source. Or if they had to do a portrait of each other. I think we could really see their styles, ability, and how they stack up skill- wise vs everyone having different parameters each week.

I do think it is a little unfair to the older artists. I believe, 6 pm to 6 am would be better. Sometimes, I do stay up until 3 am when working on a project and I am older (64) but it ruins the next day as well. I like this room much, much better than Season 3 overnight. I think it may become a health hazard in an unventilated, hot, cramped room using spray cans, oil paints, etc. Some people may have claustrophobia as well and anxiety, not being able to breathe.

BAD IDEA to read scores out loud, b/c it puts too much unnecessary pressure on the artists. It is embarrassing. It is also a very high schoolish approach on the part of the Milan family, very unprofessional on their part. The manner in which the Milan family judges the paintings, their critique of each painting, also reflects a LACK of professional artistic perspective. The paintings that they seem to like, usually should be TRASHED, and the paintings that they find fault with, are usually some of the better paintings in that particular challenge. Thus, it calls into question the LACK of good judgment and LACK of professional expertise on the part of the Milan family. It is TRUE that art is a SUBJECTIVE experience. However, I think the Milan family's critical eye is FLAWED.
@ivi1228 ай бұрын
I strongly disagree. It’s fun that they get rated and told the score out loud . It pushes them to do better and it’s fun for us viewers

It was a contest - all signed up for that and handled it beautifully - all mature who can take feedback.
@Iwanttodrawachicken6 ай бұрын
It's a great example of how judges alway have a goal in mind when critiquing art. In this case, it's to sell their class. And to try to create drama because it's believed viewers want drama in a reality show and we aren't here to learn about the art materials and techniques. (Spoiler, I'm here for the art and would love to hear more about their process and choices)
@marypartridge51545 ай бұрын
Im really trying to work this out. But I'm rather feeling now that the Milan family mean well. However all this judging of art I do think can ruin confidence in people so young.
@creativespark73712 ай бұрын
THIS is the type of insecure attitude/belief that leads to participation trophies. I don't think this is "high schoolish"-grades aren't read out loud in high school. And it IS professional. Either way, in a contest, the scores need to be read out loud to ensure fairness, and for the audience to see what the score is.

I know that this season was filmed before the season they aired first. They also filmed all these seasons a few years ago, so I think naturally they got edited differently and gradually better edits along the way. I'm hoping they film a new season next year! I think everything would come together flawlessly! And they would probably cut it back down to shorter episodes

I dislike Michael. Ever since the moment he threw paint on his overalls like that, getting some on Barb's. Then adding globs of oil paint too. He's too arrogant for the quality of his work. Dude desperately needs some humility. Its one thing to be confident and know who you are, its another to be full of yourself and disrespect an opportunity someone else would have cherished.

I have the impression these artists type what they want on an AI site and copy what comes up. That’s closer to copying.
