Arturia Analog Lab 4 - Review and Demo

Been on the fence between a couple Arturias and a couple Novation Launchkeys, but the Analog Lab software just might be swaying me. The pre-mapped functions were the initial draw, but it looks like a pretty great piece of software beyond that.

it is and its one of those discoveries where you find a preset you like, start tweaking it and then save and before you know it you have something wonderful. give the trial a go.

Hello - I use Ableton Live - I nned to transfer my work to Loopy pro running on ipad 10 gen. Up to this point i am relying on emailing files to myself from my windows pc to my ipad. it works but is slow. Will the minifuse 4 allow m e to transfer files directly from PC to ipad without the long workaround. - or will ineed to get the iconnectivity 4c which allows two devices to be connected at the same time . ? I am using windows on PC to running ableton 12 standard. I am about to order the minifuse 4 but came across this audio interface that has two usb c connectors

This seems like a weird way to ‘transfer’ files. I would be either plugging in the iPad to the computer and transferring them into the iPad using the ‘files’ app on iPad Or download ‘iCloud for windows’, log in with the same details as the iPad and move them to iCloud for windows folder and they should appear. An audio interface is primarily for convert analog audio to digital. It’s not for transferring file data.

@@JohnPaulMusicUK yes weird in deed - but seemed possibl with iconnect4 - the only interafce that allows two devices to be connected at the same time . I think id be better using ableton on a ios porduct and use ios devices for the whole process. I am hampered with pC but have invested a lot in Kontakt plugins and instruments working in ableton . I need to think about the bigger picrure . ps i tried plugging in ipad to pC but all I can see are the photos - no other files - hence my weird quiestion ! cheers

@@JohnPaulMusicUK Ive made an appointment wiht the apple store to nail this problem down once and for all - I hope I can simply use an external drive that can work with pc and ipad - i agree wiht yrou comments .

Excellent video. I am thinking of getting Analog Lab 4. I have a Macbook Pro mid 2015 with 16gb of Ram and a 2.8 GHZ i7 processor. Will it be able to handle this software. I heard that Arturia can be quite heavy on the CPU.

You’ll be fine. I am running on a 2013 iMac with 12gb of Ram and your i7 is not only newer than mine but more powerful. 😉

Which beat are you referring to? If its the 80’s style one. Its just one of the presets that is a multi. 👍🏻

Hi, can someone tell me how come my sustain pedal on my Juno Ds doesn't work in Analog Lab? My Minilab mk2 works just fine.

Yes you should be able to as it’s part of Analog lab’s program - Called a multi. Some of the presets are mufti’s. Give it a try. 👍🏼

You dont record directly on it. Its to be used with a DAW or play independently. Have a look at your DAW and how you bring it in. 👍🏻
