Arturia makes the V collection, which is a set of 23 VST plug-ins of classic synths like the Arp 2600, Matrix 12, etc. They also make Analog Lab which is all the synths and all the presets from V collection but without the editing ability. You can adjust certain parameters like envelope or reverb amount but you cannot create new patches. Analog Lab is free with this controller. V collection is not. If you have bought any of the VSTs in V collection you will be able to edit those individual instrument.

It is my favourite set of keys and I prefer the key-action (or perhaps lack thereof) over the Keylab 88 mkii which I have too. When using it with a laptop or PC I definitely recommend using an audiointerface as that will kill latency. A rather simple Focusrite did the job for me, so I can use very complex sounds from Arturia’s Analog Lab without noticeable latency.
@maksymilianbiruk6877
@maksymilianbiruk6877 2 жыл бұрын
How did you plug the Arturia to the focusrite interface? Most of them doesn't have any MIDI connection ports.
@elo2261
@elo2261 Жыл бұрын
@@maksymilianbiruk6877 You don't have to plug your midi controllers directly into your audio interface, the audio interface is there to act as an Audio Driver. All midi devices will experience reduced latency when using one, even though they are connected to the PC not the interface.

This question is for anyone: how annoying is it not having an arpeggiator on the Keylab Essential or the Keylab MK II (which I'm considering)? I'm really struggling with that, because the Arturia keyboards otherwise sound great for my needs! I'm struggling with getting an M-Audio Oxygen Pro 49 instead, then buying Arturia's Analog Lab, so that I can arpeggiate on the keyboard instead of having to do it through Ableton or Analog Lab - if that's even an option on all of the Analog Lab instruments without having to buy the full plugins?
@DylanParisMusic
@DylanParisMusic 2 жыл бұрын
If your daw has an arpeggiator midi plugin you can put that as the first part of the device chain, otherwise you might want to try to the Novation LaunchKey Line cause they have a built in arp feature. Personally I don’t think built in arps are super necessary if you’re using with daws.

It's great UNLESS u wana use anything else besides Arturia software, the preset browser buttons and wheel is locked to the 2 default kb presets. Outside of those u can't even map the wheel to Arturia plugins, let alone others. Wana control daw track volume with sliders while browsing trough presets? No can do! Hell, wana browse presets with the wheel on any other plugins besides Arturia? This keyboard won't do this. It works great in Arturia ecosystem, but it sucks haaaard for anything outside of it, so consider this before buying, just a friendly warning

@@DylanParisMusic really a shame, I really love Pigments, but the lack of keylabs hardware flexibility and limited fx in the pigments itself just makes it not an option if u wana use it as a main rig live. Had to switch to M-Audio Oxygen mini and will try to main UVI Falcon for synths, hope it works out.

Arturia vst instruments are just awesome. But this keyboard...uh. I didn't have a great experience. Poor quality in construction feeling like a toy. Buttons clicks extremely loud. So annoying. Returned. I got an Novation Launchkey MK3. Now I have two kids and a dog.

Hey I was wondering… do those knobs up top have the same parameters: Cutoff, Resonance etc across multiple Synths from the Arturia Collection? Maybe a silly question! I’d go for this in Black as I’m not really keen on White!

They usually do hit the same parameters, especially if you use Analog Lab to load the instruments

It plays like a dog. I've never been so disappointed in a keybed in my life (and I've had dozens of synths in my time) - it's so spongy it's almost unplayable. The rest is great but what's the point if the keyboard isn't. 😔

Personally I love the key-action very much. It is my keyboard of choice and I prefer it over the 88key Mkii which requires way too much force. I have had both for a year now and I use the 49 key essential far out most often.
