Your comment of using DAW in and DAW out fixed my issue. Other videos instructed to select "midi" for the input, but that caused only half of the buttons to work. Your instructions worked beautifully! Thank you!

I somehow got this working when I first bought the Keylab a couple of years ago, but I couldn't remember how (except that "Mackie" came into it somewhere), so I was stuck when it stopped working for some reason. I would never in a million years have worked it out for myself. I will make a note of the method in case this video ever disappears!

Hey there, umm, I just tested it and for me the master volume control works. In Analog Lab mode it is the last knob, in DAW mode it is the last slider. Well, once or twice I experienced the controls functionality to stop working correctly. I that case, just repeat the set up steps from the video. At least for me that fixed it. Although, that was not necessary for me within several months now. Did that help?

thanks so much. everything works fine except the "play" button on the transport bar on th4e keyboard. just makes logic immediately play, return.. over and over within a millisecond.. I can see the transport buttons flickering. tried everything but im lost. thanks much

Hi und danke für Dein Video. Ich bin so frei und frage auf deutsch: Ich habe heute das Keylab 61 MKll bestellt und bin nun ein wenig irritiert. Du sagst vor der Einbindung, dass Du das Keyboard vorher einem Factory-Reset unterzogen hast und selbiges mit Logic. Ich habe bereits Mackie-Control im Logic Setup. Sollte ich es vor dem erstmaligen Betrieb mit dem Arturia-Gerät aus dem Setup nehmen und wenn ja, geht das ohne weiteres. Herzlichen Dank

Hey, das mit dem Factory Reset musst Du nicht machen und Du kannst auch Mackie im Logic Setup lassen. Ich habe das nur für das Video gemacht gemacht, damit ich auf jeden Fall von Null anfange und alle Schritte zeige bis es klappt. Nicht, dass ich schon vorher was eingestellt habe und es deswegen bei mir klappt und bei Euch nicht. Ich wünsche schon mal viel Spaß mit dem 61 mkii :-)

Ah, sorry, I don't have a Windows notebook. But I'm pretty sure the procedure is similar. Well, the main difference is probably not Windows but instead the DAW you use. An additional interface is very likely unnecessary. Which DAW do you use?

Yes, you can record with these modes. I'm familiar with read/write/touch and tested it but I'm not quite sure if latch does the right thing your are looking for. However, the Arturia's buttons only allow to select Read and Write. The other modes have to be set within in the Logic Window.

@@phewm0re yes, I use MIDI in and out port. I do not see the keyboard send any signal when I use knob, faders in the Logic Pro DAW mode. In Analog Lab mode, I can see the signal from knobs and faders

What do you mean with audio coming out of the Arturia? The Keylab is a midi controller. I don't think there is an audio output at all.

Question: Does your Arturia KeyLab "go to sleep" if you don't play it for ~10 seconds in Logic Pro X? Mine always doesn't register the first note :( Wondering if this is a common issue and if there is a fix

Sleeping and not registering the first note after 10s sounds very annoying. I don't have this issue. Have you tried to reset your Arturia to factory default settings?

@@phewm0re Actually I figured out that my Harman Kardon speaker was the issue, it microsleeps in 10 seconds if it doesn't detect music. All fixed now!

Actually, I thought I had a defective unit (I had this happen in Live too, but figured it out. Studio One wasn't a problem at all, weird). Arturia NEEDS to be aware of this, but they were pretty lame when I was trying to figure this out. Their instructions are just wrong, again, owe you a drink!

Hallo, Ich glaube, Du kommst aus Deutschland, oder ? Ich habe ein AKAI MPK261, das ich schon zum 3. Mal wegen desselben Problems zu Thoman zurückgeschickt habe( ModWheel defekt ). Jetzt überlege ich, das Arturia Keylab Essential 88 BE als Ersatz zu bestellen, wenn mein AKAI immer noch nicht funktioniert, was ich auch befürchte. Jedenfalls hat mir Thomann schon mitgeteilt, daß sie mir dann das Geld für mein AKAI gutschreiben würden und ich dann dafür ein anderes Gerät bestellen kann. Jetzt überlege ich mir tatsächlich dieses Arturia 88BE zu holen.. Meine Frage : Funktioniert das Setup in LPX für dieses Arturia Modell genauso? Oder muss ich irgendwie eine andere Lösung suchen ? Moin Andy. Da ich das Essential 88 nicht habe kann ich es nicht 100% garantieren. Aber das ist doch seeeeehr wahrscheinlich, dass es auch so funktioniert. Wenn ich nach "arturia essential 88 logic" google finde ich zumindest Videos und Beiträge in Foren, wo es mit Logic klappt. Ich würde also sagen: Go fot it :-)
