ARTURIA Keylab Essential 49 - Logic Set-up + Analog Lab V Overview

I was starting to think that I would never pair my ARTURIA Keylab 49 Mk ii So thank you for sharing your knowledge with us, you’ve saved me from a huge headache and time precious time. This keyboard is way too amazing to not work in lockstep with Logic, I knew there must be some trick, and it was found matching it with a Mackie hardware of all things. Again, thank you.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for showing us how to set this controller up in Logic!! Nowhere in the manual or on the Arturia web site does it say to use the Mackie Logic Controller to set this up. Thank God you did! Why in the world would any one choose that controller when the KeyLab 61 shows up in the controller list in Logic Pro as a valid selection? Like you said right off, that doesn't work! Blessings!

Well I'm assuming you would just connect the keylab to your laptop then out to the audio interface/mixer as usual.

Does intro version of analog lab v NOT have multi-chord recording capabilities? When I open the Logic Pro x on my macbook, and press the Arturia keylab note, I do hear all the cool effects (like phaser), but when I hear the sound of the finally recorded one, it's just single note recorded.. without the effects coming from the keyboard. My question is ... does the INTRO version of Analog Lab V record the effect onto the Logic Pro or do I need the Pro version of Analog Lab V to get that done?

Yeah the Intro version of Analog Lab should record all the FX that have been used in recording. The keyboard is midi only so no sounds come from that anyway. I would check the Logic settings and make sure the MIDI in + out are correctly set.

Thanks for the video! Do you know how its possible to program and recall custom user created instruments (or even factory presets) directly from the pads? So lets say to have 6 different instruments that change when pressing the pads?

To be honest I never use the pads at all but it does have a user function so maybe check the manual.

Hey Dave I’m having trouble linking my keyboard to logic it’s just not controlling the controls all its doin is when I press a key the screen just do some weird stuff light up make my screen smaller do you have any setup tutorials walk through or suggestion in detail how to get it to work

Well that is basically my main video for setting up logic with Arturia keyboard. The only thing I suggest is deleting the set-up and starting again. You may have selected the wrong Mackie, plus make sure DAW in out are configured as video.

Yes you can, here is the information from manual: To activate Chord mode, simply press and hold the Chord button, and then enter your preferred chord on the keyboard, up to a maximum of 10 notes. Once you release the Chord button, this chord can be played by pressing just one note. Other answers to your questions: To reset transpose mode, simply hold the Trans button down and select a C note. weird. every time I do this, I can hear the instruments fine. but when I try to use the transport controls logic will just stutter. the playhead looks like its trying to play and rewind at the same time. like a 1 frame loop. thanks in advance for any help

Hi there is a couple of things you can check, if you go Prefs-Control-Set-up and check to see what Input Port you have selected, try changing to DAW IN if not already. Also in Prefs-Midi-Inputs make sure both Arturia's are ticked.

In Logic just create a Software Instrument track then in the Inspector side panel click in INSTRUMENT then scroll right to the bottom until you see AU INSTRUMENTS then go to ARTURIA and Analog Lab will be there.

The Keylab49 still won't play through Logic. And oddly, setting options aren't the same for input and output for Mackie.

I've tried several--strings, various pianos, synths. When I play the keyboard, no MIDI data is reaching LPX (no dot in counter panel) Oddly, the Logic DAW controls work fine from the KL49. So strange.

You can buy the individual synths or get the V collection 9. You can also buy more preset packs and they have a few free ones to download. I'm currently working on doing individual synth preset packs available at dtcstore.company.site

I have a major problem I wonder if you can help me with. I had an M-Audio Keystation 61 and just bought a new Arturia Keylab 61 and am having the same issue. I have it all hooked up with my Logic Pro X but what I'm playing on the keyboard is not what the software is recording. The note values are different and sometimes the notes sound on top of each other. Weird. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

If you're having the same issue then it must be a midi set-up problem. First thing is to delete anything set-up in Logic and start again following instructions in my video. Also check Arturia Midi Control centre and make sure you are on the default setting for the keylab essential. Luckily I haven't had any issues with this controller but I have had problems with Logic and Arturia gear before.

is the keylab essential 49 compatible with the new M2 chip? I know it’s compatible with the M1 and oS Ventura but do we know anything about the M2?

Yeah it will work OK as these Midi Controllers are Class Compliant and don't require any software.

I have an older Analog Experience The Laboratory 49. I cant seem to make it work in Logic. I wonder if I used the control surface Arturia | The Laboratory instead of Mackie Control, but the thing is I cant even try that because it's not showing on my list. Any way to make it show so I can at least try? How did you get those Arturia ones to show on the list?

Well I'm using Logic 10.6 3 so maybe not the same. They just show up in the list when I open the set up menu I don't load them or anything like that.

Well other manufacturers are available, but you need software as it's a Midi controller therefore it has no sounds built in.

I'm not sure as depends what DAW you are using but have a look at your Audio input and output settings first.

I can't get any of the knobs to work. And the stupid software won't even open up even though I have an account already registered.

@@DavidThomCreations Really. Well I just tried to install it on my windows 10 and it is the same thing. The sound bend and all the knobs won't work with FL, only the piano keys. I tried to link the pitch knob even, but nothing. I tried it in Fl 64 from 5 years ago or more, and even in Fl 20. Like nothing is working.

@@DavidThomCreations Ok so I finally figured it out at least for the sound bend for FL 20. What I did was I adjusted a few settings on the plug in settings. Seems simple enough right? lol Not really. So the point is it doesn't come set up. You have to figure out how to even link it all your self. And that's what noone on youtube is explaining. Anyway take care bud thx for ur time.

That seems a bit odd. I would delete that and start again. Maybe try another USB cable as well. I can't add a screenshot in comments to show what this should look like so maybe email me if still having issues.
