I did the same this yeah, I didnt listen to anything much that I knew I wouldnt like. 10- I wouldnt say it was THAT bad. Compared to Hollywood's Bleeding, yes, its not great. But its okay enough. I'm just gonna wait for the next album 9- I LOVED the lead single Bite Me, it was INCREDIBLE, in fact I think I like it more now that I did on release. But Cannonball and All I Wanted were also good, I agree. But the rest is just generally sad 8- I didnt hear this one, but on the second run through of the video (I missed part of the initial premiere), I paused it and gave each song a patchwork skim through. Its not my thing, but a couple of the songs were pretty chill though. Swing & A Miss, Doormat, Cigarrettes, Suitcase Full of Cash, Balloon Boy, Things We Used To Do, and The Villain, were all pretty cool, but probably only Swing & A Miss for sure, and maybe Cigarettes, Things We Used To Do, and The Villain, will get any replays from me. 7- Will of the People was.... the fuck? I almost liked the title track, Won’t Stand Down was cool, I REALLY LIKED You Make Me Feel Like It’s Halloween, it was funky, well structured, and didnt take itself to seriously, which on an iffy album that tries to be a serious effort, is a good breath of fresh air, Verona was more like an interlude that went on 3-4 minutes too long, but its synths were really cool, so I'm cool with that. Euphoria also starts out cool, but then it ends up okay and feeling like something I've heard from a dozen bands before 6- I was there at the stream and we listened to this, it was ehhh, there were 3 good songs, all towards, yet not at, the end, with slow motion probably being the only repeat listen I'll have 5- Explosions... FUCK. I kind of glossed over many of the problems this album had, but after a bit of time I noticed a good number of the thing you mentioned, and had to go sit and relisten, asking "do I ACTUALLY like this song, or is it playing because its on the tracklist and I didnt hate it on the first listen?". I still really like Lifetime, and I still listen to Chain Of Abuse, as generic it is I liked it on a musical level, I've always liked songs like that as cheesy and unoriginal as they may be. Musically, I like Explosions and Neurotic too, despite being a little without soul, but if I can nod my head along to something, I dont always care. I also think yes, Redemption has some heart to it, the only issue is the track itself overall, it bores the shit out of me. I think I'd give it a 2/5, but still 4- I didnt even know that the chainsmokers were still going or had an album, I kind of liked High but not enough to really defend it beyond a line or two that at least sound good, even if they are empty 3- Mainstream sellout was whatever. COULDNT CARE LESS. I think if MGK puts rock back in the mainstream and then retreats back to rap so the actually good bands can use that newfound support to find their footing, than Then Travis Barker two Pepto Nostalgia albums were worth it. And to be honest, it brought a couple good songs, and recently I've found unless I REALLY LOVE the artist, I couldnt care less if their albums suck donkey balls, I'll take the couple songs that are good or I like, if any exist, and leave the rest to rot. Maybe was saved by its paramore inspiration and BMTH's contribution, it actually was great, why are you here was pretty good, I've thought so since it came out before Tickets to my downfall, then last november, born with horns, WW4, fake love don’t last, and twin flame all are at least listenable, so thats what, a soft 7/20 tracks...35%? Thats a solid failing grade right there. I actually didnt mind Tickets To My Downfall either, it was a solid pass, 11/20, thats 55%, so thats a 45% average. I take the 45% of listenable stuff, Coulson can keep the 65% thats mediocre 2- Everything until V was fine, it wasnt 100% my thing then OR now, but still, I liked it, and Hotel Kalifornia just wasnt good, end of discussion 1- The album The E.N.D. should have been the end of Black Eyed Peas. Nothing more to say on that (and praying Jon put's the New Nothing More Album on his best of list)

I feel there's a lot of retrospect on Avril's love sux album. A lot of us were excited by the idea of her bringing back pop punk sounds but the album itself is rather meh... this fusion of watered down pop punk and Hip Hop and Trap beats or whatever... no offense, I don't like that stuff. It’s just bland, and such a step down from Hollywood’s Bleeding which is such an amazing album and proved Posty’s versatility and punch through the music. At this point I’m the ONLY one here who actually kinda enjoyed Mainstream Sellout to a degree, lol Can’t explain it that well but I can be a sucker for some corny music and media (but Tickets was WAY better) Oh but don’t even get me started on that absolute dumpster fire BEP album! Having to suffer that in your livestream was like an hour I’ll never take back 😂 it makes You’re Welcome by ADTR a low key godsend.

Welp, I guess I am only one of the few that actually thinks So Far So Good is The Chainsmokers' best project to date. I think the production is the best they have produced. The lyrics aren't that bad, although after hearing Nurture by Porter Robinson last year, I do want The Chainsmokers to go in a different direction of lyrics, not quite like the original Sick Boy EP, but similar in reflection. I do think Drew sounds really good now, which is why I was somewhat disappointed with some of the extra autotune, but the production is so vibey that I hardly notice it anyway.

Sorry for forcing you to listen to that Hollywood Undead album lmao I never thought I would see the day you would rank Muse below Avril Lavigne. Also, just a side note here, but I don't know if I'd call Post Malone "likable" since he's said something like "if you want emotional music don't listen to hip hop" but it was several years ago and he might have moved on from that since then. idk

Imo this year was pretty bad for music - some major disappointments, and what I'm most excited for is coming next year. It felt like nothing worked out - a good single led to a bad/mediocre album, and a lot of artists that had a lot of promise just flopped harder than ever before.

man, as a Muse fan for 10+ years, it hurts to see them on the list but tbh i totally understand 😭 i wanted to love this album, i'm even one if like five people who like "Compliance"... but how the hell did they become so uninspired, both musically and lyrically? i can't really explain it but i feel like all of these songs are so soulless, even if Matt really wants us to believe otherwise. i enjoyed "Simulation theory" but "WOTP" for me is on par with "Drones", aka my least favourite album of theirs. "The 2nd law" was probably their last interesting album (yes i am a "T2L" apologist, absolutely love this one)
@kowloonbroadcast2 жыл бұрын
I really liked the first single “Won’t stand down” when it came out - genuinely decent songwriting, the heavy riffing territories they haven’t been to, held hopes for the album. until it came out loool. Even simulation theory was somewhat interesting, at least from a production perspective, I remember it having a strong load of good sounds. anyway, then I remember Origin of Symmetry, Absolution, Black Holes, Resistance and all of the ones that followed aren’t even close despite my attempts to stay open minded. At least glad I made it to their live shows during BHAR and Resistance eras several times lol.
@zachreacts69402 жыл бұрын
Drones is a great album, much better than Simulation Theory and T2L, which are easily their worst albums aside from WOTP
@kowloonbroadcast2 жыл бұрын
@@zachreacts6940 yeah, strictly speaking, you’re right. ultimately SymTheory nor T2L are anything significant, despite the fact that it was.. uuh… ok - to hear them once they were out, it wasn’t a torture or anything. the first of the above I remember having some cool production tricks. but did I turn them afterwards intentionally because I remember specific songs that had me returning to the albums to listen to again? uuuh.. naah. did all of the previous had at least 5-6 of this kind of songs in the tracklists (Symmetry, Absolution, BHAR, Resistance)? Fuck yeah, they did - it was basically near to impossible to resist wanting most of the albums on repeat almost in their full. kinda sad. but, I guess, nothing is forever here. they had formed my taste in music in a noticeable part earlier in their career with that album streak (Showbiz also, but less than the others). gotta give them credit for that at least.

What’s sad about the new Muse album is that it had so many great ideas that I’d love to see fully committed to and done better in their future releases. The bass riff on Compliance, the breakdown on Won’t Stand Down, the lyrics on You Make Me Feel Like It’s Halloween, etc. But these ideas are buried in a random mess of bad production and songs that just don’t flow together. It’s great to see Muse trying new things, and I hope they can improve and deliver on what they promised here in a way that actually works. That being said, Kill Or Be Killed and Verona are two of Muse’s best songs, and I’ll defend We Are F***ing F***ed as an awesome album closer until the day I die.

Personally, I like Avril's Love Sux album a lot. It would be better to be more interested in what this album is about in general because then it will be easier to understand the meaning of the songs. And it's nice when the album has songs with other singers. There is really only one ballad in this album, and the following song you mentioned, Kiss me like the world is ending, is like an insight into her current life/relationships. And MGK's album is not that bad, maybe I haven't listened to the whole album, but I liked most of the songs. THESE TWO ARE NOT BAD ALBUMS
