Aruba is stunningly beautiful.The beaches,and omg...Flamingos!! I think I would stay on the beach all day with them. The donkey sanctuary was so sweet. Bless them for caring for them. Thanks! It's hard to compare this trip pricing-wise. We used mostly points to pay for the entire trip (flights, hotel, even the rental car). Food costs were comparable (or even a little higher) than back in the US unless you were off the tourist areas. We found several inexpensive restaurants, too! 👍 - Howard

Yes, will be going to Oregon for a one year delay wedding reception for our nephew, then back into Idaho, where we hope to relocate some day. Can’t wait to just get-away and feel human again visiting our beautiful world. Since it’s our 45th wedding anniversary in June, and I turn 70 (😱) in October, we’re treating ourselves to another trip to Oahu. FYI- The Flamingos on that Island were captured and had their wings clipped. So they can't migrate and feed naturally. Which is why you need to feed them like prisoners. So if you are alright with that, than by all means. But that Island is not supported by locals and is strongly discouraged

I'm ready to head to some island anywhere and Aruba looks fun. I think Global Entry is a must when traveling outside the US. Coming back from Ireland a couple years ago the process was so easy and quick.

Agreed! Global Entry can really save a LOT of time. On the return from Aruba, we spent 3 minutes passing through US customs/immigration. The regular line looked to be at least 30-45 minutes long. Worth it. 👍 -Howard

Love your Aruba video.❤I'm visiting Aruba for the 4th time on a cruise next March.I really want to do the Flamingo Island day pass but it's like winning the lottery.😒I will email the Resort a few weeks before to see how they are doing the non resort passes since it seems to change frequently.If I can't get the pass I plan to go beach hopping to do some snorkeling at Arashi,Boca Catalina,and possibly Malmok.I've done snorkeling excursions booked through the cruise line but they have too much travel time and only an hour of snorkeling.I need more time with the sea life!

Glenda, that sounds like a great plan! You've been to Aruba a lot more than us, but a couple ideas come to mind: Renting a car on the island is straightforward but be sure to bring a phone holster so you can run Google Maps on it to quickly bounce around. Parking at the beaches wasn't a problem on our visit. We had great success calling the resort (when you reach someone just ask for the concierge desk) and you might be able to just book the passes right then and there. Have a great return trip to Aruba! 👍 -Howard

I used to live in Aruba. (Dancer at La Cabana Showroom) There's so much to see and explore. You definitely need more visits. And that private island at the beginning of your vlog used to be called Sonesta Island. If you're skilled, rent a 4x4 to drive up and down the rugged terrain. It's exhilarating! Scuba and snorkeling can't be beat either. Thanks for taking me on a trip down memory lane. Aruba Aloe used to be incredibly affordable, and sold at Aruban grocery stores. Their shampoo and conditioner was a must try. Smelled so good. Did you stop at Charlie's Bar after Baby Beach/Rogers Beach area? Thanks guys! 💗💗 Love you always Aruba

Hi Stephanie, great question and the long line at the airport was the CHECK to see if you had your negative second test result (as opposed to getting another test at the airport). Honestly not sure if maybe we could have just gotten a test at the airport, but the second test was literally walk up (no appointment needed) and $50 per person, so not too bad! Great point about the vaccine. Right now, it doesn't seem to make a difference either entering a foreign country OR returning to the USA. Good news is testing is free at Walgreens and CVS, and wasn't terribly expensive ($50) without appointment on Aruba for the USA return test. Stay tuned on the Keys, btw... 😉 -Howard

Not entirely sure what changed for the CDC, but according to their website you are still required to get tested no more than 3 days before you fly back to the USA. Good news, it is really easy, requires no appointment, and only costs $50 in Aruba at the location we showed in the video.
