Thank you “You Tube recommendations” for dropping this cool guru in my “hey girl have a look at this” box 😅 I worked at HomeGoods for 3 years as a department coordinator. Although I’m retired now, it’s still my favorite store to visit. You hit the nail on the head on many of these tips. Buy that treasure when you see it, you can always return it if you change your mind, but if you hesitate, take a chance and say I’ll go back for it, trust me, it’s going to be gone - snatched up by some other saavy shopper!! I have that exact piece of furniture you highlighted at the beginning of this video. The tv console. Love it !! 🥰

OMG love your suggesting creating a pinterest board first! I am moving to a new house with a full laundry room with a sink that is so blah! I created a board and have been picking up pieces. Found a laundry sign that stands for the tile counter in distressed black and some awesome knobs for the cabinets that look fabulous and look like sea urchins. Did not buy a floor pillow in gorgeous tropical colors and went back the next day to buy it and it was gone. Our 7 grandkids would have loved it. That was a great suggestion. If you see it, buy it because it will be gone!

Omg that last tip! Happens to me all the time because I'm so indecisive. I had to learn the hard way, if I like it at Home Goods, I'd better just get it... Love your style!
@TheSimmpleTruth4 жыл бұрын
The last tip was the best. That happened to me and I also learned it the hard way. Every piece there is unique and it won’t be back. So get it when you see it or you won’t see it again, most likely. That is also what I like the most of Homegoods, you never find the same thing twice. So, everything is unique.

I worked for TJX Company. I never shop Ross. The quality isn't as good. Their designer pieces are from Outlets and Marshalls TJMAXX & Homegoods pieces are from the Department stores. There is a HUGE difference. Designers manufacture pieces that are strictly for Outlet Malls and HSN. A big difference in quality.

Fun fact: I work at a winners/home sense which is the Canadian version of TJMAXX and Home-goods, so im not entirely sure if it’s the exact same.... but, we get shipments every single day during weekdays that are completely randomized and we have to put out everything we get out that day, if possible, in the same day. The only reason product would ever be put onto the floor during weekends is if it’s back stalked!! You’re so right about going in the mornings, because the fresh new product is put out then. Although, I wouldn’t say that the “best product” is put out on the weekends!! Awesome video, I love your content! YES! Just buy it! A couple years ago, I was at a consignment store and saw an amazing bronze piece of two manta rays (85 pounds with a black marble base). The price was $700 and I noticed the artist's name (Dale Evers). I knew something was wrong and called the artist. He said this was a 1 or 1 because the mold and form was destroyed. The original price paid was $9,000! A rich person dropped off a ton of stuff and then left the country. So, the store just wanted to get rid of it. If I had hesitated ... GONE y'all. So Arvin is right ... go for it. I could never afford such a piece ... I'm still happy about i.

Nobody asked but here are more tips from a HomeGoods insider. (1) Ask an Associate when that store is getting its trucks delivered and when the merchandise from those trucks is coming out. As Arvin said HG flows merchandise to the sales floor before the store opens but things will keep coming out until the back room is cleared out. Furniture, lamps, wall decor, mirrors and rugs come out later than merchandise from other departments since they are larger and/or require more time to process. (2) If you see something you want, buy it right then because it will not be there when you come back later that day or tomorrow. HG gives you 30 days to return items, so buy what you want and return it if it doesn’t work out in your home. (3) Never skip a HomeGoods grand opening! Stores get the best, creme de la creme, merchandise for grand openings so you will find some amazing items. (4) Shop your HG regularly and often and lastly (5) be kind to and get to know some of the store’s Associates. We are there to provide great customer service and want to help you. We are also a wealth of information about our store and you can use this to snag those gorgeous and oh so stylish pieces for less than retail.

I work there. You’re advice is close but not quite all the way there. Here are the 2 things I am willing to share. Something you got right and something you aren’t correct about. 1.you are absolutely correct about location being key, suburban locations are best. 2. A lot of stores put out some of the best merchandise near closing. Mainly because of how certain items need to be opened up carefully from shipping. If it is easy to open and put out it’ll be there in the morning. But if it’s labor intensive it’s more likely to be on the floor much later when there is more downtime. Especially for things like ornate lamps or furniture.

Arlin speaks the truth. I bought a bunch of stuff from home goods when I moved from Concord to San Francisco. I found my golden egg when went to home goods in Moraga in SF Bay area. I found and bought a floor to ceiling 7.5'x 4' heavy black chestnut framed mirror by Ralph Lauren. the thing must have weighed well over 100 lbs because we could barely lift it off the ground and had to slide it across our wooden floor with a towel underneath. We picked it up for only $200.00. I checked retail online and the price tag was $950.00
