Great video! The SRx params are actually numbered by the number of serial ports you have mavlink enabled on. So SR0_ params are serial0 (aka USB). If the next mavlink connection is on serial4, the serial rates will be controlled by the SR1 params. If you have 2 mavlink devices connected (a mavlink camera or another telemetry modem in, say, serial 1 and dragonlink telemetry in serial4), then the params you'll have to set is SR2_

Hi and thanks for this. I'm curious why you specify a baud rate of 38400 from the receiver to ardupilot when the DL instructions specify 57600. www.dragonlinkrc.com/instructions/v3equipment/radiomodem/ I'm still trying to troubleshoot and can't get it working on either, so I'm curious if this matters? Maybe DL updated their instructions with the Nov 2020 firmware or they have no clue what ardupilot needs? Thx

Hi, the receiver is setup that way because that is the default rate for the mavlink output in the arudplane parameters! As for the ground module, that setting only determines the connection speed to the computer, has nothing to do with the connection speed between the receiver and the autopilot!

Would it really differ that much from anything else? The DragonLink receivers output SBUS... just connect it to the flight controller just as you would any FrSky receiver for instance!

I use crossfire which is blessed with bluetooth that doesn't work . Without anyway to connect to mission planner it's quite useless . This dragonlink looks interesting but I dont see smartaudio ? Since ardupilot doesn't support it Ive been using the crossfire nano Rx to directly control Vtx . Can I do this with dragonlink ? I like shorter antennas with 900mhz unit ....how much less range ?

Actually smart audio has nothing to do with the radio system in general, as it connects to the flight controller, and just a set of stick commands are used to get into the programming routine of the Vtx, so... any radio system that works with the flight controller, will be good for that! I am still testing the 900Mhz system, but where I live that band is actually used by mobile phone operators... so I am getting mixed results! If you are in the US you should have no issues with range, and should not see much of a difference between the 433Mhz version and the 900Mhz version, at least according to Dragonlink! I will have to talk to them about possibly releasing a firmware with 868Mhz option for the EU!

Yeah DL is still active but VERY slow about producing product. They're nano Rx's have been out of stock for many months now. It has been frustrating for me so I am now running CRSF in more of my planes.

I think the demand for Dragonlink has increased a lot lately and they get sold as soon as Mike put it on store.Once I flew 18kms with telemetry on just 25mw!!

Serial 2 did not work because in the Matek F405 ArduPilot firmware, it is hard coded for the receiver. For example, PPM input.

The DragonLink works with its own receivers, you will be using the radio only to supply the channel signal to the DragonLink.

Hello there again. I ha e been flying with apm but got a failsafe i had it on 20sec so it was to long.with the wind it could not circle that lo g so my mini talon went down. I did have the last gps coördinaten but was not the real spot it was 800mtr futher. Wen i was there i was to late someone toke it home.i only found the hatch and some foam.now i want some gps tracker. But i really dont know were to start.looking the whole internet... I dont want to loods it again.do you have a solution to follow your aircraft.thanks anything will help. I allready ordered a new one.

Can't say anything for sure, because I haven't looked into those yet... but search for something a bit more expensive... and rear reviews to make sure it has an actual GPS receiver in it! Cheaper options are not GPS enabled!

How far do you plan to fly? Dragonlink is good for extreme range but I have found CRSF to work just fine as I own both. The good thing is CRSF is readily available.

There is a lot of info on their website, the procedure should be the same as for the controllers I use it on! But wait... radio modem? So you mean a telemetry radio separate from the DragonLink?

Well the SBUS line from the receiver goes to the SBUS input on the F405 Wing, as does the RSSI! The telemetry Rx and Tx lines go Serial 4 on the F405 Wing... which are clearly marked on the pinout diagram of the flight controller! It is quite simple! :)

Well... can't comment on the Vector and Eagle tree... but the other two are fine! It should work equally well with any autopilot actually... this is just a control system!

Hi, I am not very familiar with the pitlab autopilot, but if it has the same type of mavlink telemetry output on a serial port as the Matek board, you should be able to use telemetry! Otherwise, in terms of receiver control, I assume it should be able to receive the usual SBUS, PPM, etc., signals, which the DragonLink can provide.

Good day Sir First i would like to thank you for this nice video. I have a question for you. So, i have Dragonlink v3 advance with Dragonlink Micro receiver, Taranis x9d plus and MFD Crosshair AP. I follow up instructions from your video but when i switch off the TX MFD AP it doesn"t turn to RTH Mode!!! I used before same gears with EZUHF instead of Dragonlink and working normal MFD AP. Weird! If it gets as far as connecting and starting to get params... the connection should be OK! Have you checked the DragonLink telemetry setup manual on their website for possible settings that may have affected that? Is it on a new installation?

I try to communicate by wifi, some body know how to do it? I connect to wifi, but dragon link config program don't see my Tx. also try to connect by address 192.168.1.1/ But when try to connect with name and password DragonLink, it's give me password error.... Also NO any Bluetooth found from Tx

I am not sure the new WiFi models also have a bluetooth! Also, I now have the 900Mhz version with the WiFi, but am yet to even try and connect it via WiFi... but I think that is only for the telemetry link, not to actually gain access to the module itself for programming! Have you tried contacting DragonLink about this? Or writing in their support thread on RCGroups?

The "500 thousand" will be insanely expensive both to purchase and to run/maintain, so there is no way in hell I am touching that, unless somebody else is taking care of the bills! In this case, why use higher setting and rain my radio's battery faster, when the lower power setting gets the range I can get out of my video system... and I hardly need more! :) Will bump it up when I go further with my video and plane's endurance! :)
